As usual a descrptive misuse of a word you obviously dont understand the meaning of or are unable to!
Ever seen actual footage of some setting their nuts on fire? I have as I said in my original reply but never let the truth get in the way of a good story eh?
So as I said before just because it has not happened yet doesnt mean it wont. So sitting on the bike while refueling you get what an extra 20 cents worth of fuel in it? big deal hope it makes you happy!

I would like to see the proof on static electricity............. I've seen the footage of fires at the bowser with people (apparently) holding cans in their hand or on mobile phones etc.... but what actually causes it ?????????

One so-called expert said if you get out of a car you should touch the body of the car before picking up the filler nozzle, and If your filling a can, put it on the ground and both cases your apparently 100% safe..........

So surly sitting on a bike has got to be better than standing next to it with only the filler nozzle touching your fuel tank :? :? They tell you to touch a car but get off a bike :? :? I reckon they want you off your bike so you can get away quicker if she goes up

Doesn't make sense to me, I would like to see some proof of the actual cause...........

I tend to find amusing is comparison between what is essentially someone exercising religious choice and wearing a piece of safety equipment. Is it really a double standard or is such a comparison merely a display of xenophobic behaviour?

FFS if you are whinging about having to take a helmet off to refuel..... you could probably take a good look at yourself in the mirror, give yourself a decent uppercut and get the fuck over yourself, because IMHO, you are a petty and pathetic fucktard

It does happen, mainly because of synthetic material and dopey bitches like this one
who get in and out of vehicles causing static build up.
This is why all the Aussie pump handles (for petrol) have have the locking pins removed
Never heard of it on a bike though ;) :kuda:

Mythbusters put a mobile inside a case full of petrol fumes and rang it over and over and over!!!!!
NO BOOM BOOM

No.

If the cause of removing the helmet is for legal reasons such as identification. Then the burka should have to be removed too.

You're just as unidentifiable with a religious cloth covering your face as your are with a helmet on.

We don't live in an Islamic state where religion is the law. Why should any religious dogma trump our laws.

Oh sweet Jesus H Christ!!!!! Here we go............
To call the Burka argument Xenophobic behaviour is absolutely fucken PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!!!
The reason for helmet removal is "identification" as it would be for Burka removal, PLAIN AND SIMPLE
I would suggest that if your religion "in this Country" allows you to be above the law, then it would be
"pure logic" for the rest of us to insist that you fuck off to a sympathetic country so that we can relax
and feel safe in our own Country.
I am sick to fucken death of the fact that only White Fucken Christians can be racist and Xenophobic.
Fuck off home you arrogant fucken invaders thebirdman.gif

Fortunately Australia’s xenophic ghettoes are declining in number. Camden is one of the few remaining outposts of insular, isolated thinking which refuses to integrate into our multicultural Australia. The Camden Councils rejection of the Islamic school will hopefully only delay the final extinction of such negative and unproductive outposts.
The sad part of such opinions - which are not held by the majority of Camden residents - is the ‘othering’ of so many of the next generation of Australian kids. What Camden isolationists do not realise is that they are not preventing an influx of foreigners into their neighbourhood they are instead refusing to meet with and become neighbour to Australian born Aussie kids.
As with so much of the rest of Australia, the demons of the unknown disappear when residents discover that most Australian parents are second generation migrants who live and work in a very similar manner to their Anglo-Saxon Christian earlier immigrants. They will also discover that apparent nationalistic behaviour in the face of ‘strange’ migrant children, is really based on foolish misconceptions which identifies only how ignorant those espousing them really are.

Interesting post??
How can you integrate and be neighbourly if you go to a segregated school God Damn it.?
Typical bloody Lunatic Logic
What would happen to me if I posted a similar article about a "Christian School" in, let's say......Afghanistan ;)
My point is that all religions are well looked after in this Country (comparitively speaking), so if you don't want to start
religious wars, shut the fuck up and leave us to our own opinions.
If we can't use logical arguments without having some sooky arsed, super sensitive, radically brainwashed, religious fanatic
calling us xenophobic, then I say, and I know I have support..............FUCK OFF SOMEWHERE ELSE :x

Where the fuck did that come from? Did you bother to read the rest of the post? At no point did I whinge to anyone, I left it on to test the waters and had an amicable conversation about it with the guy. If you read more than the one line you would realise I usually do take my helmet off. The reason he told me they ask us to take our helmet off was to be able to identify us and I asked if they would ask the same thing from a Muslim who had her face covered by her burka. No malice, no aggression towards anyone, just a question regarding clothing. Now the fact that you were not there and had no idea of the tone in which the conversation went I can understand how you might jump to conclusions but to have a rant and start calling people names when you are completely ignorant of the facts doesn't hold you in high esteem. I think you may need to take some of your own advice on this one as you just publicly demonstrated to the world an impression of stupidity.

If you looked hard enough, you'd realise that passport/licence photo's etc have to have the majority of ones face displayed for identification purposes. Now, if a law enforcement officer requires to a person of islamic faith to prove their identity then so be it, however it is done in a way to preserve their religious dignity. This is done why ? Because the majority of Australians are racially tolerant and accept differences in race, religion etc. However, to try and compare a helmet / vs a burka / hiujab / jilbab whatever you want to call it is complete bullshit. One is worn to preserves ones religious beliefs and one is worn as a legal safety requirement. And since when do we have to 'identify' ourselves to a servo attendant ???? There is no legal basis or requirement, so that argument is pretty darn mute I'd say. It is a company policy and that is it. To try and drag religion or associated clothing into the argument is neither constructive or beneficial as a community. I stand by my comments, why? No I am not muslim, technically you could call me a protestant, my kids goto catholic school, however, I am sick to death of people having a bash at other religious groups or races and then trying to justify it through weak arguments claiming discrimination etc.

Nelso wrote:

The comments were not necessarily directed at you personally, I stand by my opinion, and have certainly put up with enough tardness over the time due to my wife being of foreign decent. Why, you may claim whatever you want personally, I could not give a rats arse, when weak as piss arguments are used to compare religious beliefs and practices with laws or company policies because an individual may be put out for a whopping 60 - 120 seconds of their life by having to remove a helmet.... then think what you want, but to me it still looks pathetic.

And yes unfortunately you are correct in that you will get a lot of support from certain sections of the community who will also try and use differences in culture, racial background, religious beliefs and practices to justify their point of view.

I have had my say on the matter, and that will do it from me.

If the policy of the service station is for motorcycle riders to remove their helmet so as they can be identified, it applies to those who cannot be identified due to religious garments preventing their identification.

It is a security issue, and religion does not dictate laws and policies in this country, champ.

You're a muppet. I don't race, cultural or faith bash. My stepfather is a Moslem, I grew up in a household with an Islamic influence. The weird thing is, he would agree with me on this point, and call you a muppet too.
