shot myself with nail guns, nearly taken fingers off with a saw and a router. been lucky. any tool can jump/grab before you know its happened. always need to be on the ball.

At my after-school job when I was 16-17, I had to get a bag full of ice and put a bagged finger in it, when my boss' offsider put his finger through the bandsaw. I'm happy the finger was already in a bag, and it was only a finger, not the whole hand, because that was close enough for me. A whole hand!

I got sacked from a job once for firing a nail gun at people, this was way befoe all the OH&S stuff that is out nowadays, it was probably fair enough but I was actually firing back at blokes that were firing at me first...

My nephew has just recently been released from the Alfred ICU after a car accident, has lost bottom half of his R leg and half if his L foot, be aware people that it CAN happen to you!!!

I arrived home not so long ago from the Hospital, Joy will stay with the wife to keep her company in such trying time as support.

OK, there is an update and if you thought the intro was bizarre well you heard nothing yet.

Let me begin by saying that there is a good news and there is a bad news.

The good : he is improving and so far no infections the op was a success.

The bad : it was intentional, in other words it was a suicide attempt of the worst kind.

Depression is a horrible thing and if you or someone you know has it, encourage them to get help, otherwise it can result in disasters like this one.
Like waynemorgan says in the other tread, there is some stigma attached to it, but there shouldn't be, I think it should be thought of like you having a common cold and going to the Dr to get the remedy for it.
Come to think of it , you can live with a common cold and it will cure itself giving it time, but depression just gets worse and darker as time goes on if not attended.

Glad to hear he is physically on the mend, the other will obviously take longer. Depression is a hidden time bombfFor most men, particulary with older men who think they can handle it and don't need to get any help
