Nah - it'd never get used :lol:

OK, so you've decided to line something else up, then leave. So make your calls (or maybe wait until Monday), get your interview clothes cleaned, and make sure your resume is still where you left it 6 weeks ago. Maybe even spend a little time surfing seek and sending in a few applications.

Then put it out of your head as much as possible. Nothing to stress about anymore - you've made your decision! You are leaving as soon as you get something else, so no need to let yucky people ruin your weekend. Just put Monday morning into a box in your head and close the lid. Monday might even be faintly amusing, since you're supposed to be stressed out and caring about your job and you just aren't and don't anymore.
And good on you for being smart enough to realise this within 6 weeks. I'm a lot slower than you - I had over a year of spending weekends dreading Mondays, feeling battered and mistreated all week, miserable and stressed in the evenings and feeling more and more depressed and worthless... for nothing! I couldn't see out of the hole I was in enough to realise I needed to just get a different job and shut up all the "should"s in my head. So YAY for Dizzi for seeing the hole and deciding not to go down into it!

Now dry your eyes princess and enjoy your Saturday & Sunday! :lol:

Yeah Cath that has been my reaction this morning very much, I am actually going to classify it as sort of a temp role that had potential to going permanent but didn't work out, and there is actually a temp role available that have sent of for already, I know it's a selfish attitude in these hard times but I can't do it anymore, stay in a job just because and maybe I am walking away just because it's gotten a lil tough but I know my job, I do a great job and don't believe that the treatment with this situation has been completely fair and if it is any indication with how this person will treat me in the future, I don't like it.

Ty will PM you about what your place has got going, maybe a complete change of scenary is exactly what i need.

And yes I am about to have a blaster of weekend, so better go clean before royalty come over :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

DIZZI WUVS YOU ALL WATS AND WATS

Thanks for all your advice folks, well I gotta face the music tomorrow and have sent a few things out that will hopefully have some positive feed back, from the general consensus, it is to move on and I have every right to so that is what one will be looking at, maybe I am lil precious about the situation and maybe I should grow a thicker skin and put up with it and slog it out to make it work and heck I will take that attitude until a better offer comes along right now life is to short to put up with this and I wasn't put on this earth to be someones door mat no matter how important or far up the ladder they are, I have been doing this for 11 years and if 10 of those I worked well with the boss' I had then I am sorry but surely I have the right to try and find that again, even in a tough market.

Working for a bully is a bucket of crap. I worked for one in my last job. I lasted 8.5 years, of which he would have been my boss for seven. He really was the complete all-round package.

* Arrogant.
* Small-minded.
* Held a grudge.
* Thought his shit didn't stink.
* Had no effing idea.
* Used to take credit for the outstanding work of his team members.
* Picked on those smaller and more timid than he was.

We had an really short Indian-Malaysian engineer working in my team, nice guy with a lovely wife and two kids. He was one level directly above me, in-between me and the boss. The boss rode this guy into the ground, constantly nit-picking, nothing was ever good enough/quick enough/tidy-enough. The Indian guy (who was quite a timid guy but DID know his stuff) had a nervious breakdown. All his work passed to me and when the guy came back he wasn't ever the same.

I could see the writing on the wall, the engineer was going to leave and then the merry-go-round would start again, only this time on me. I found another job and left. Three weeks later the engineer and the boss were both made redundant. The boss' boss hated him more than we did...

Anyway what I am getting to is that it's probably a better idea to suck it up for as long as it takes for your self-control to reach zero OR you find another job. Hopefully this occurs before you go postal. I'm a firm believer in not burning bridges, so even when you do go I would do it in a dignified manner anyway, just to rub his nose in it.

Hope it works out, Mick 8)

I just went through the same thing. Started a new job mid January and after about 6 weeks I had cause to speak with one of the directors about this guys behaviour, and general lack of ability. Oh, and he caused me to lose about a days work because he couldn't bring himself to ask me if I was finished doing what I was doing so perhaps I could save my work, etc...

Anyhow, things improved for a time, basically because he didn't talk to me for 6-8 weeks. At all :lol: Didn't bother me that much to be honest. While I had the support of the director it was tolerable. However, the director went on a long holiday. I'm not sure how long, because he still wasn't back when I resigned.

The look on his face when he was told I was leaving was priceless. A combination of sheer panic and also the realisation that it wouldn't look too good for him, given I know he had had a talking to.

Picked up work the next day, and since then a bit of work has found me without me looking for it. Best thing I ever did.

Seriously, don't put up with it. It will bring you down, and it'll reflect when you apply for jobs and go for interviews. My only real regret is I didn't quite in the first instance - and I was fully prepared to at the time.

IF all else fails you can do what i did, become self employed and start up your own business....

I used to work for Vodafone call centre. To be honest they were pretty good to work for. The hardest bit was all the customers ringing in with queer stories...

But that aside Dizzi, if you feel like you can take it anymore, there is a way out! You can just leave, life will go on, even without a job your life wont come to an end! There is always trusty centrelink also!
But as everyone else has noted, just start putting your app out everywhere and something HAS to pop up.

Chin up, go for a ride and you will feel refreshed

While agree with what everyone has said about enjoying your work and workplace I do do agree with your own spot of critism above,

We are not all there to be friends and in any position I am a true believer of learning how to manage 'u'p so your boss doesnt have to feel they need to manage you. This way you get to create a little bit of your own desired work envirnoment whilst delivering what the management requires. Business is business and not all bosses are going to have great HR skills that work equally well with everyone.

Good luck with toughing it out until you find something better.

Yeah I completely agree with you Blurr, I very much have taken the attitude of not mixing work and play and well went in today with a completely professional and low key attitude, so far it worked, but I tell you the feeling of walking on cracked glass and the dam anxiety through the day, not good, oh well here goes a few more kgs till one finds another job.
