We know someone who has just repainted his ninja don't we........
I took great pleasure at swearing when you get solvent boil, overspray and other paint problems......it's all good fun and makes you feel good when it all comes together.
Think about it, if you go stock again you gotta buy replacement gen stickers, ouch!
If I was you buddy, I'd strip all the plastic off yourself (too easy),find yourself a seat in the garage and a bucket of water with a little washin up liquid in it, get yourself some 800 wet and dry and if the panels are undamaged, wet sand them until they are dull all over.
Then have a drive around a few small paint shops and have a chat with the painter and see if he can do you a good price on painting only, try and by pass the bosses, when they see it's bike bits they wanna screw ya.
Paint wise, I'm in love with the 10r orange, and to trick it up even more you could get a gold pearl over the top, I've seen and orange 9r in a post around here somewhere and they look sexual.
Do it in 2 pac base, with pearl in clear and 2 pac clearcoat over top.
1 litre of good quality paint, around $120-$150 and your topcoat $50-$75.
I reckon you do a bit o work yourself url get change out of $500 all up with ur painter.
It takes a good painter hour tops to paint all the 9s plastics.
I know someone that can supply you with a cowl 4 formentioned 9 aswell........
Good luck.
ps while its apart you sort any probs and give it a good service and clean before repanelling.
