motorbiking tools

Postby 98ninja » Mon Jul 20, 2009 3:33 pm

i had a guy on the weekend , on his L plates, explain to my girlfriend how his cbr250 is practically a race bike.
she said my boyfriend rides motorbikes,
him " ah ,what does he ride?"
her " a zx12, a 2000 model"
him " ah theyre shit, too upright and theyre sports tourers. old mens bikes, and theyre slow , he should get a real sportsbike"

it gets better

him " i finally got my knee down hey, was feeling like a wuss"
her " where did this happen?"
him " rode to sydney on the freeway, i got my knee down on a few off the corners, its a real fast road"

WANKER!

I opened this thread thinking it was about something completely different ;)

Similar to the "So you got a cruiser" comment from a friend when he first saw my bike.

so he is comparing a cbr250 against a zx12, yet he is "Racing" on the Freeway... I could understand possibly the logic when it comes to cornering (considering the post someone put up last week about the comparison between the 250 and the 1100 around the corners)... but a Freeway!

Hmm. Even I (who still hasn't gotten a license) knows that is just plain stupid :p

ive met the guy before

in fact the first time id met him he one upped me on everything.
i sat there trying to have a conversation with someone id just met thinking who the fuck is this guy? superman?
hed either done something better than me or knew someone who had.
he spent 20 minutes telling me how huge he was from the time he spends at the gym and how he has to eat 3 or 4 steaks a night to maintain size.

then i heard he was getting a cbr250 and i couldnt wait for the shit to flow.

Had a simular thing happen, meet this guy at a party he turns up in full leathers (one piece) shinny .He starts telling me how quick he is through the spurs, im thinking is this guy over 20 nope i dont think so.So i ask him what he rides Vtr 250 then he says what do you ride reply zx9.Oh i bleww one of them off through chum creek road last week.I immediatly spit out my beer from laughfter and when i compose myself i ask how long u been riding and is this your first bike.Reply about a year and this is my second bike as i wrote the first one off. After that he challenges me to a run through St andrews raod and chum creek road.I again nearly choke on my beer as i explain to him that i do these roads pretty regularly and have been riding for 32 years .Reply doesnt matter as i have ridden those roads at least 6 times. At this stage after realising that casey stoner has a twin i go and talk to some one who has a brain

On the other hand, I have seen a postie bike overtake a CBR1000 on the old road...

Then again, those that can ride very well tend not to boast about how they could take anyone. Only the real tools do that!

only joking, i ride like a old lady. :(

one the guys at my little brothers learners test was apparently crapping on about how he'd been riding trail bikes for 25 years all morning then when they first got on the cb 250's for the first time on the cold morning he had trouble getting the bike running, the instructor pointed out that he might need to use the choke initially, then our 25 year trail bike veteran (who's age i'm estimating at 30) was crapping on about not being used to that cause all the bikes he's ever ridden were fuel injected.

at one stage i walked up to listen in and he spotted me, he said to me "looks like you want to have a go on the bikes"(because i'd been watching all day). "bit jealous are you??"

now i've got nothing against 250 rider, let me get that clear right now, but just because this guy was pissing me off almost immediatly i replied "i got my leaners first time in 1998.....i gave up riding girls bike long ago"
