2008 Z750 Front sprocket change

Wed Dec 31, 2008 1:49 am

Hi guys and girls my name is Mark i own a 08 Z750 i love it to bits but its time to start moding it a bit.
the first thing i want to do is gearing i would like more acceleration and to get the front wheel up easier.
I was thinking of going down two teeth on the front and seeing how that works but any suggestions would be great.
(Mabey -1 the front and +2 on the back but is that more money for the same thing as -2 off the front )

Thanks

P.s i live in cairns so if you live in cairns and are heading for a spin feel free to message me.

Gday Judwah, Your on the right track to get the front wheel in the air.
I would try the front sprocket first -1 and seee how that goes, if ya need more, then do the rear +2.
Best to mod the cheapest sprocket first.
Another thing to consider is that on the highway at 100 you will be reving the tits off it.
If you do alot of Highway then its not a good idea, if not and its just suburbia, then GO FOR IT.

Hi Mark, welcome to the club :D Front -1 sounds like the go but even the 05 Z750 will launch the front wheel off the clutch real easy, are you looking to just launch from throttle.... if so you would have been better off with a zed thou :o
Another thing, if you go up on the rear you will possibly need another chain as the original may not be long enough ;)
Gotta love the little zeddys :kuda:

ya rob is right, u need a Z1000 hehehe! With the extra grunt tho the 1000 would do it alot easier and it does!
Even with my mods i still cant get it up in 2nd, but maybe cause i just dont ride that hard!

Hi guys. Was wondering if going down 1 on the front changes the Z1000 noticably? Anyone done it?

I'm due a new set of chain and sprockets.

Does it stuff the speedo reading etc?

Cheers

it will play around with the speedo reading and i'd imagine the thing would wheelie like a bastard!!! 8)
