Learner rider nabbed speeding at 153km/h

* Mex Cooper The Age * May 6, 2009 - 5:33PM

A learner motorcylist has had his bike impounded after he was caught speeding at nearly twice the legal limit in Melbourne's outer east this morning.

The 19-year-old male from Bayswater was clocked travelling at 153 km/h in an 80 km/h speed zone in Wantirna.
The teen's learner permit also meant he was prohibited from riding the high-powered bike he was on. :roll: (IDIOT!)

Leading Senior Constable Mark Dewey was on an unmarked motorbike when he pulled over the rider outside the Knox Shopping Centre complex on Stud Road. The teen's motorbike was confiscated under anti-hoon laws.

"This is a bloke that shouldn't be on the road and we've been able to do something about it with the use of the unmarked solo (motorbike)," Leading Senior Constable Dewey said. "The message to irresponsible drivers is you will never know who we are and where we are."

The teenager will be summonsed at a later date to appear at the Ringwood Magistrates Court.

...normal transmission has resumed :lol:
glad to be back

Love it!
If the Police Bike was marked he wouldn't have been speeding and no-ones life would have been at risk
in that "moment of madness" :roll:
Aint a one of us that hasn't "cut loose" in a "moment of madness" including the boy's "not very often" in Blue ;)

Mick :?

Awww...fuck off!! Are you the only rider on the planet who hasn't opened it up at some point?????? If so..continue to throw stones...if not...perhaps some understanding might be in order!

Get real...most (only total dead heads with no passion for riding a bike hasn't at some point opened it up) have done this. Most likely more than once!! His only crime is he got caught! Stud road is three lanes wide with good vision. He probably chose a pretty safe spot apart from not picking Const Dewey on his unmarked BMW/R1/GSXR1000!!!!

Fuck..If const Dewey had been out and about on my last ride, the papers might be saying something worse than what was printed!!! :lol:

As for riding a bike bigger than what his licence dictated. I know people who started riding without a licence, then, once they actually got one, went straight to a large capacity bike! And they are still alive and well and still riding!!!!

I can't see how he's a goose of the week. I think he's just a young guy who pushes boundaries. Isn't that what youth is all about???? Fucking namby pambies the lot of yas!!! :roll:
