Imagine the cash that went into this bike man, these pics were posted on the web in May '06, this dude could have probably bought a real MV Augusta !!

Having said that, this bike is truly a one off special, NO-ONE would have the same anywhere.

Top marks for effort I reckon.

No doubt lots if work and money has gone into this (someone said the same about the other bikes). Its just not my thing.
I recently did this 'pick your fav 5 bikes" (or wishlist, or some crap), on facebook. When i searched for and found zx7r this thing came up.
NOT impressed. On the plus side though, if anyone does the same stupid mini questionare on facebook, my nice white zx7r comes up as an option. Nice!!

What percentage of factory bike has to remain before we cross the line from 'kawasaki' to just 'custom'.

Wow, only 2 people like this bike then !!

Funny, I admire the engineering work that went into the bike, I agree it should have been done to a newer framed / engined bike though.

I always like the idea of someone having to look hard to work out what the base build came from, and the idea of owning something no-one else would ever have also appeals to me.

True, a top class custom would have a one off frame, but who can afford that ?? (I would LOVE a spondon frame to build a kick arse bike)

Ah well, different people and opinions make the world go round ...... Kind of

Or Harris etc ......Now that would be a real project not just bolt on bits & pieces (leaving aside the subframe) ;)

looks ok and probably goes like stink, but why call it a ZX7R, when it doesn't even have a ZX7 engine in it? Or is it only the frame that counts as the bike?

Looks good but surely ol' mate had some coin left over to do a sweet paint job on the fairings instead of trusty bunnings rattle can black.

IMO 7Rs came perfect from the factory!

LOL I didn't even notice.
I respect the expertise that's gone into it - but don't understand the real why either.

eventually any custom bike will be outdated... (hell even stock bikes will). the motocycling world's technology and development is improved and outdated so bloody fast these days it's hard to keep up.

I don't plan on getting rid of my 10 at all (not a fan of the Gumby's, and the Bug's are ok - growing on me). So if he's got that attitude about himself as well i.e. not planning on letting it go, then why not spend some coin on it?

looks sweet IMO, and a truckload of engineering work needs to be appreciated :)

(that's just my 2c)

as someone said in another thread "the 7 has whats sometimes described as the best front end around" so if the front end is that good then i could easily understand why he used the 7 frame... and the 9 engine ... well "u gotta love a 9" there is a mongrel bike like this kicking around on ninja6zone, but i cant find the pic as yet... is also uses some italian bodywork...

i like the idea of a really personal mongrel bike 8)
