Sprocket Ratio's......

Postby Disco » Fri Mar 27, 2009 4:08 pm

Hey Guy's, Was just curiouse am in the process of sorting some sprockets and was just wondering, If going -1 on the front is the same as going +3 on the rear....Does it make any difference to performance to do one or the other????

The advantage of going -1 on the front is that I can use the chain I have :D .

Cheers Dave....

Stock is 16/43.....Looking at either 15/43 or 16/46....But may need a new chain to go up at the rear :( ....

get a calculator and do rear procket divided by front sprocket and u have the ratio ;)

if u did 46/15 you'd be on the back wheel everywhere

go one down on the front, and get the 43 toothed bling hardened annondised alloy rear which are lighter also and look cooler.
oh n you should be able to get it on the back wheel with standard gearing, my honda does :P just slam it down a gear, and jerk handlebars back and clutch her up ;)

although if you can do it with just power its safer and easier to handle :kuda:
anyone can go fast in a straight line,,,,

HTFU Disco it's doable on the standard gearing. Bring the bike around and I wil show you ;)

drop down one on the front anyway. it will make the bike feel alot more positive under power
