Premixed cans and bottles

Postby seiko1 » Wed Mar 18, 2009 9:43 pm

I don't buy them but did you see that the alcopop legislation didn't get through the Senate
so the Government has to pay back the liquor companys Millions and your Jimmy slab will be a lot cheaper soon :D

I think it was suggested that the taxes collected would not be handed back just that they would no longer be charged :?

the $290 million collected since last April, is definitely going back to the industry - the taxes collected since then are illegal, and the govt. has no choice other than to hand them back. Its a crock of shit really, I know that when a six-pack of Jimmies rocketed from $18.99 to $24.99, I spat the biscuit. For fucks sake, the alcocrocks tax was meant to target binge-drinking teenage skanks who fill up on Baccardi Breezers or Vodka cruisers before hitting the clubs.....they should take a leaf out of the old-timers books, and fill up on cheap wine !!! or Brown Muscat, its always a good drop.....

Will be interesting to see how much the price on all pre-mixed drinks drops, once new stocks start to replace current stock. With any luck, a 6-pack of Jimmies will be back down to <$20 where it fuckin' well should be. On a good day, it was $15.99 on special !!! :kuda:

The Money is going back to the Industry!
The sad fact is that "The Money" never came from the Industry!. It came from Joe Consumer's pocket, so it is a great windfall for the Industry!
The only fair solution would be for the Government to throw in an extra 6 pack every time you purchase for the next 6 months at least, not practicable I know, but fair it would be!

rtd's will drop approx $1.20 to $1.40 per standard drink. so Jimmy's should be about $16.99 per six pack

allow me to be the first to say.......

1. HTFU

2. Suck it Up , Princess ( at a vastly inflated price I must say   )

3. Serves you right for being a beer-snob.

4. Start drinking Melbourne Bitter, and find out why most Melbournians are ! (drinking that shit, its not hard to see why...)

5. Jimmy Beam and Ginger Beer is a good alternative !!
