I'm up for a new set of hoops so I am wondering if anyone that rides aggressively has tried the Michelin road 2 tyres on their Z1000, if so whadaya think.

I run michelin 2,s front and back on the ZRX. The back is just about on the wear tabs at 8000K,s the front still has plenty left, both put on together. I ride twisty second grade rds mostly ,they stick like glue but thought I would have got more out of the back . I,m going leave it on as its the centre thats down .(if that makes sense)
EZZA.

i had PR2 front and rear on my ZX10 crim, but now running PP on the front and rear of the Z1000. Next time will go a PP on the front and a PR2 on the rear!

If you are speaking of the Michelin Pilot Road 2, 2CT ???? I've used a few sets and reckon they are PFG personally. But each to their own!

Pilot powers last me 4500-5000k, but I can get 9-10K out of a rear Pilot Road 2. I mostly ride solo, sometimes with a truckload of Luggage, mostly on twisty roads with the odd occassional highway jaunt. I find the grip is brilliant for a road tyre and they are confidence inspiring in the wet. I run them at 36psi in the Front and 42psi out back, solo or loaded two up, summer or winter, wet or dry.

For me, they are the best road sports tyre I have ever used......Gos has some footage somewhere of a set being used, as Michelin intended, down some mountain called Hotham I think! Ask him to post it up!!! ;) :kuda:

It's a personal thing. I don't like the Road 2s on my 9. They've done 2500 k's so far, not showing much wear yet - I reckon I'll get about 12000km for a rear. The grip level's fine, I just don't like the feel of 'em. Then again, I'm in the minority that doesn't like Powers for the same reason.

On the plus side, they do get better the harder you use 'em, and they're easily the best tyre I've ever used in the wet.

I just threw a set on the ZRX today. Had a set on the R6 and they took everything I threw at them. I'm extremely happy with the way they perform and am so glad I finally got rid of the Bridgestones.

Had a set of PP on the ZRX11 and didn't like them. Gone through a few M3s since and sorta, kinda like them.
Remember seeing a post ages ago recommending Pirellis on ZRXs as they cope with the weight better. Anyone riding on Pirellis and how the fark did you work out which type to get.
Is $300 for a rear M3 a fair price. Getting one next weekend.
Also saw a post on the ZRXOA forum about tyre profiles, some tires fall in to corners and some need to be forced in. Anyone got any info on what types of profiles different tyres have, what that means to the ordinary punter and how you can tell.

The M3's turn much quicker than the old M1, thats about all I can tell you Tony as I only use Metzler's - have done for 13 odd years.

Big Guy has the Diablo Rosso on his ZRX, from the few short goes I have had on his I'm not sure if they turn slower or its just the way his bike is setup compared to mine

i had Metzler Rennsports on the 10 a while ago, in a 190/50, and the rear was about 1cm away from the hugger, when riding it used to touch a bit.

just put on some M3's and its got about 4cm from the hugger. and its also a 190/50. the m3 seems to have a flatter profile than the rennsport.

but the rennsport is the old racetec, so it if more a sporty tire than the M3.

i also had dunlop 209gp's on it, in a 190/55 and it looked about 10mm wider!

i think the michelin website has the profiles overlayed each other. but not other brands.
