Gear Indicator questions

Mon Feb 16, 2009 9:12 pm

OK for those that have em, I am looking at a gear indicator & there are a few around so I need some info before committing to a purchase, my main criteria is ease of fitting (loom included), large size digit, specific mounting for an 05 ZX6R.... at this stage I am eyeing off a Gipro blue one. Also anyone know of local distributors?

Rob I found my Gipro w/TRE excellent, acurate and very fast (no delay). As for size I was told by many people behind me that they could see what gear I was in.

You'll find it very easy to mount with your knowledge and should take about 20mins all up. I didnt have to program mine on the gumby but Firey did when I installed his.

I bought a non TRE Gipro gear indicator for the tracky as I felt I wouldnt use the TRE on the track (I am riding wrong if I did need it:oops: ). So far I have installed it but having troubles with the programing phase of it. The direction state it shouldnt need it. Anyways I have emailed the guys below and they are soughting it out.

I have bought a few things off them and they are pretty good. They are also the only distributer for Healtech in Oz

let me know if you need more info

Russ, like mine we only needed to program it and failed to do so because it wasn't wired correctly. IE one of the connections wasn't making proper contact. Check all your contacts at the plugs... Once we'd done this to mine it programmed straight up!

Rob, it works well. Is v bright which is great at the track as its easy to read quickly if Im out of pattern or lost my shift points. The TRE is an added bonus for slower corners / tracks! (Sorry Russ but not all of us are up to speed at the track yet  )

no offense meant Rob.

I remember the issue with yours however even though this is a GiPro it wires up differently and is just a straight plug in (no wiring reqired).
