GPX250 Suspension

Hi all,

Anybody know of anybody putting in harder suspension into GPX250's, due to shitty stock ones. also pricing if any.

80 cents for the preload and $10 for heavier oil..

Remove the fork caps, drain the fork oil and replace it with 20 weight oil (I think its 15 std).
Before you put the caps back on, put 2 or 3 20 cent coins as spacers on top of the spring washers (under the caps).

This will increase preload and damping on the forks, which, I think, are way to soft std...

Thats what I did to the wifes gpx and zzr250.

The rear.... you will have to get the shock rebuilt if its a problem, but I've found the front to be the biggest problem.

yeah i know the front end is getting done very soon, but yeah my fat arse makes the back end too low and soft, had a real bad problem keeping traction on sunday on the way to from pits, kept jumping around, and bottoming out on me.

hahaha, yeah already got one of those, and a rower and a bike and weight station and free weights and ab machines and a few other goodies. it always helps when your a trainer.

how did Jus or yourself find the front end after 20 weight oil and 3 20c pieces in the forks?

Ive got the rear on the hardest setting and im good with that, but i do find the front very spongy...sorry for hijacking the thread..

Much better, but its still a bit soft.....

Although I did put 15w oil in the front as I had some laying around.
20 w would be better and I may even through another 40c at it..

i have no adjustment in the back, but if the zzr rear suspension does, can the zzr rear suspension be swapped in my gpx250?

Found a adjustable zzr250 shock on ebay so hopefully i get it then set it hard for my heavy arse, and should be all sweet.
Hopefully be all good for next pits sunday ride{23.11}

All fun, and hopefully have the front done and sprokets and new chain, haha i have all the parts just no time and the bro {mechanic} is worse then me for time coz i have no idea on that shit, SO I NEED HIM TO SHOW ME THE WAY.

Yes, the ZZR250 shock is a bolt in swap - but it is about 10mm shorter. My skinny arse didn't have a problem with that.

Dunno how you'd space it - through bolts top and bottom.
