No need, I am still alive!!! I managed the apple and Mango and even went another step and had a small tin of spaghetti. All of which went down without too much drama. Woohoo!!! Hopefully this is the start of the turnaround and not another case of one step forward and two steps back!!! Give me a week on solid food and I'll be up for a ride!!!! :D

Hey Marti, I know you're probably losing enough weight as it is, but why don't you try some of those Optislim diet shakes from the chemist. Reason I say this is while they're still not the same as real food, they're jam packed with nutrients and vitamins and might make you feel a bit better and aid the healing. This is in addition to whatever else you can tolerate of course. Just an idea. Mal and I are experts on gut problems - unfortunatley....

Things appear to be going OK so far...touch wood!!! Today's dietery intake was two eggs, Apple/mango Puree, Custard, Spaghetti, a skinny latte and a tub of Yoghurt. Apart from the odd sharp but brief pain, it's all passing through without too much issue. I Intend to have Scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast :D I can't believe how exciting that sounds to me!!!!

Things have continued to improve, all be it slowly! I have managed light food for two days now and have just had breakfast. It's still uncomfortable to eat, but not excruciatingly so. With a little luck, if I can manage to keep improving at the same rate, I might be able to get back to work next week sometime!!!! :) That being the case, A ride in two weeks time should be on the cards!!! 8)

FFS Marty, it's way too early for the Nobels. Better leave some charity work for the Mormons, you know they new some good PR.

The concrete pills & Merv Hughes Mustache are in the mail. champ.

Keep swallowing & get well mate.

I get a little better every day, with everything becoming less of a chore to do. This morning I had a hearty breakfast which included A cuppa, two slices of toast some cornies and some peaches! All went down nicely with once again just a little discomfort and a few twinges but no excruciating pain!!! Woohoo!!! So, feeling as chipper as I have been, I decided on an outing!! I got a mate to pull my bike out for me yesterday, so I geared up, hopped on the Rex and rode a 4 kilometre retrun journey to lunch with a mate! I only went from Williamstown to Williamstown!!  But it was a ride and I actually found it easier to ride the bike than drive the car. On the bike I can take the weight on my quads over the bumps, in the car, I just have to grin and bear it! It was awesome to be out and about. We met up at customs house and I had a piece of chicken and some salad! First real solid food for three weeks! Nice!! We sat out in beautiful 24 degree Melbourne Sunshine with just enough of a cool breeze to take the sting out of the sun! I reckon I even got some much needed colour sitting there. I certainly feel PFG after managing both the return trip on the bike and some somewhat normal food!! :D Having said that, the chicken was overcooked and typical crap pub food! :( But at least it was solid typical crap pub food!!!

I've decided to have another week off after this, just to make sure I am right and to even take some time to relax a little myself. It's been a tough three weeks with the worst pain I have ever had to endure and believe me when I say, I've been through some pretty major pain over the years and have the scars to prove it!!!! I look like absolute crap! Yeah, hard to believe that I could get any worse than what I was, but it's true! I deadset do look like a holocaust survivor, with black eyes, withdrawn cheeks and skinny, boney shoulders. So, as soon as my system can take it, I am going back on a weight gaining diet. I've at least got to get myself starting with a 7 rather than a 6!!! :x

I got busy this arvo. I took a trip to Bunnings. Which after being couped up for three weeks probably wasn't the smartest thing!!! I went for an A small outdoor setting to enjoy the afternoon sun in the back yard for the next week or so while convalescing, but came away with an outdoor setting, a 105 piece home tool kit (my good one is in the toy box at work), a lawnmower and an edge trimmer!!

The outdoor setting was just a cheap three piece set. The toolkit was just a cheap supatool one, but it's handy for around the home and had loads of tools in it. With the minimal use it will get it will be fine and for $20 who could say no!! The edge trimmer is a Flymo one which was one special for $60, once again, it was a bargain so I snapped it up knowing it will save me money in the long run...I'll explain in a moment!! Then as I was leaving, I saw a new Masport mower which was just too cheap to say no to...$269!!! Woohoo!! :D

As for the money saving bit, with the split from the bride earlier in the year, a few of the things which I left behind were of course the lawnmower and the edger! So, consequently, I have been paying the kids $50 to do the lawns and edges every fortnight!! In 12 weeks I will have paid for them and the rest of my gardening is free from there!!!!!

You have no idea what "crap" pub food is until you've eaten at the Coogee Bay Hotel :)

Great to hear you're on the mend mate.
