Harsh, but fair. The blonde guy who looks like he has a fit everytime he talks REALLY irks me. He has no clue as to what he's on about!
Seriously, what a toilet of a show. Bring back the UK version please.

The next UK series doesn't air 'til Nov 24.
Just heard on the radio that, instead of the 1 million plus they were hoping for this week, only 650k watched it. Can't wait to see how much the ratings drop next week...

It's sad that they have followed the UK template too closely. For what its worth ( FWIW for those that cant read English

) they might as well of sent the English crew over to do a 6 month stint here and had it all covered and then gone back to Europe. There is no input at all with an Australian slant. The track coverage is abominable, the road tests are filmed exactly the same with the annoying use of filters, even the studio is the same! And whats with the test driver? We cant even create our own character - such as "The CR
aIG"
Absolutely piss poor and I agree - Embarasing and cringeful to watch.

I actually thought it was a slight improvement from the first.
Thought the ute challenge was a touch silly, but no sillier that some of the challenges the uk mob have had.

Well having spent quite a bit of time in and around the 'super pit' , the ute challenge in every aspect was utter crap!! (Though Westland auto's will have a couple of "demo's" going cheap now no doubt!!)
I tend to agree with many that they try far too hard to follow the same format right down to a poor attempt at the same gags!?
Aussie top gear simply cannot be a 'carbon copy' of the UK version IMO so maybe a bit originality wouldn't go astray perhaps!?
Ford vs Holden challenge was quite obviously a blue oval subsidised affair!!!

and a stoopid, invalid comparison
turbo6 v V8, one with the brake package one with standard brakes
and one that showed us how well they drift (boring)...and not much else

Have followed this thread, but I think some of you have missed something. You are complaining that they "followed" the pom version too much. Well, that's because they have to, because it's now a Franchised show: not to do so would be a breach of agreement .
FWIW, I will give them time. Have seen all series of UK top gear, and they sucked so much in their first season they nearly got canned. At least Charlie Cox likes motorcycles.

Doesn't matter. He's still a tosser that shouts too much and he isn't the least bit funny. As I said, we can always laugh at Clarkson ... because he's a pommy git, but Charlie makes my culture cringe.

I tried to point that out to the whingers on page 1, MM. They didn't listen then either. I mean, why call it Top Gear Australia and make it different? If you're going to make it different, then you might as well call it, I don't know, "The Car Show" and get an ex Sale of the Century host to host it.

While I accept that they have to follow a format, making a show that has presenters of almost identical size, age, etc and having a set that looks like it was shipped down from the UK show, IMO, killed the Aussie show before they even spoke.
There is no originality in the show whatsoever. It's like a bad Zerox copy.

Still yet to watch it (which sounds like I haven't missed much) but reading the TV guides it gets canned endlessly by poeple.

Just read adds in the Sunday Herald in Sydney that Jeremy and friends from the UK show are doing a stage show in Sydney at the Acer Centre in

February 2009. see
