Linden Magee has won the QLD Supermoto Championships on board his Kawasaki KX450F, wrapping up the series with 2 class wins at the 3rd and final round of the series at Stanthorpe, QLD on 6-7 September.
After a disastrous 1st round to the series, Linden had his work cut out for him at the 2nd round in Ipswich. Posting very impressive results there, Linden headed into the final round of the Championships sitting in 2nd place and with his sights firmly set on a Championship win. It was going to take a gallant effort for Linden to win the series and he did not disappoint. Linden won his first three races in the S2 (450cc) class and needed a final race win to take out the Series.
Brushing the pressure aside, Linden came out firing on board his KX450F in his 4th and final race and showing his regular talent and determination, Linden took the race win handing him the Championships win and the State Title.
Not content with just the one class win, Linden also wrapped up the All Powers class, winning the Title. An impressive result considering his KX450F had to compete against bigger capacity motorcycles.
Linden was extremely happy with his Championship win, saying, “I’m really excited to win! The KX450F felt great all weekend, in fact it performed well all series. I’d really like to thank Kawasaki, Fuchs Silkolene, Gas Strut Marine, SMG Industries and my dad for all his support and help.”
Linden now focuses on the 3rd and final round of the Australian Supermoto Championships. With one round left in WA, Linden is hoping to repeat his QLD series success on a National level as he goes into the final round sitting in 2nd place.
