actually i dont think they will. The 00 zx6r has different fork diameter than the 99 model. I was looking into this awhile ago and contacted helibars and the response i got was that the 00 version bars would not fit on a 99 model.

regardless, the guy has obviously decided its time for an upgrade and is now trying to justify it to himself. As his local community it is our job to help with his justification ;P

Thanks guys, it looks like I have to go to the 00" 9 to get this bar but is a last option would prefer to keep the bike I have. Would love a Z1000 but out of my price range. Extra costs for a 9 is something to take into account as well, might have some homework to do. 8)

Ta, and they make the helibars for that model too headbang.gif
Also just wondering what is the difference between the E and F model? was there a few problems with the E model? Just asking cos I will have find an extra 1 or 2k to go up to the F model.

Mostly different rear end - subframe, shock and swing arm. The tail's a bit higher, but it's certainly not extreme. My F model's actually raised a bit at the rear and I find I can ride it longer than I can my ZZR600.

20mm bigger front brake rotors with 4 potters rather than 6. Sounds wrong, but they work well.

Added engine mount, I think.

That's about it, from memory. The only problem with the E model was that the rest of the Japanese manufacturers released new bikes.

thanks rusty, sounds like it was just improvements on the bike not that as anything wrong with the bike.

Plus:
- 32 bit ECU (as opposed to a 16 bit)
- different fork internals, different front wheel spacers
- 6" rear rim (up from 5.5")
- Pillion grab handles removed
- Different (reportedly better) carbies (closer to the C series - the E had carbies more closely related to zx7r carbies)
- revised upper engine mount (you can bolt crash knobs straight on without cutting the bodywork)
... plus probably more.
