New Winter/Waterproof Jacket

Postby Phil » Sun Jun 29, 2008 12:05 pm

I decided after nearly 10 years of faithful service to replace my Dainese "Eyes" winter and (used to be) waterproof jacket. It was a waist length one not the ones that cover your arse like the other winter jacket I also used which was a Dryrider "Trakka" model.

Anyway after assessing my needs I decided to go the Dainese again, when you buy this gear you do pay a little more but I have always found it to be both long wearing and comfortable - along with the added comfort of knowing you have excellent body armour in the shoulders and elbows/forearms. I have road tested the Dainese armour and it works - trust me on that ;)

I tried two different models but went with the "Dawson", strange name, but who cares about that. It has two waterproof pockets at the front but no "hand" pockets to put your chilly hand is whwn you have no gloves on. So far that would be about my only gripe with it after 3 days of constant use. Its warm, multi adjustable and has a removeable winter liner and massive padded neck warmer thinginy that stops all drafts comming down your back.

Here is a link to the Dainese site with a photo of the jacket, this is the same colour I got.

This time of the year it will get a lot of use so I'm looking forward to being warm AND dry :D

Phil, It would also be a very good Jacket for those mad guys (whoever they are Phil) who do the 'dumb and dumber' rides that the AMCN guys do once a year in the snow!!!!.
