Interesting concept - range is a limiting factor. Top speed would get you killed on our roads. :?

I found an electric scooter in the US last week.......range of 60km , tope out about 90kmh.....down here, would be *ideal* for the daily hack to work and back....

Within 2 years I reckon fuel will be pushing $3 a litre, and electric scooters will be everywhere.....

Just think - the US hurricane season is just around the corner. If they get a shit season like they did in 2005, when fuel went through the roof from a bit over $1.10 / litre to almost $1.40........imagine what it could cost around Aug/Sep !!!

Off on a tangent ( as we do here ) - your thread title reminded me of the SF novel "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep ?" which was the basis of the movie "Bladerunner" - which is up there with the all - time great SF movies imo.
