I'm in Bristol now for 6 months and ear plugs are particularly important for my 25 mile motorway commute. The police tolerate up to 100 mph (161 km/h) on the 70 mph (113 km/h) motorway and many people are going that fast! Totally awesome! I do 85 mph to save fuel ($2.40 per L) and the wind noise is pretty loud on my half faired FZS600.

You can really tell the difference between city and distance riders huh!!

The best earplugs I have used / are using are called "spark plugs" which are slc (80) rated / 28Db. And I get em by the 200 box(better than trade)!!!

Now for those of you who obviously haven't been riding very long , very far or very fast!!...... Good skull caps and earplugs actually allow you to hear your bike at speed!!
Yes that's right , by cutting out the wind noise/buffeting , you CAN actually hear those throaty intake and exhaust notes...(if such a thing exists on an ER-6!?)

And yes industrial deafness aggravated by tinitus is a real bitch.. But hey It not so bad if only we didn't have another 40 odd years of putting up with it!!!

----with some people you actually do have to spell it out
