howdy, new since the forum changed?

Tue Apr 29, 2008 7:46 pm

Hey all, used to be registered here but havent visited, and after returning to the new forum, i found i cant log in.

used to be kwaka_chris or something, rode a GPX250.

been through alot of bikes lately and finally returned to the green team.

bought a nice complete and running '82 GPz750.

engine goes GREAT! nice custom exhaust, 4-1 standard, but shorty muffler exiting sideways before rear wheel.

needs a bit of TLC in the looks and body department but should be getting there soon.

currently needs forkseals, tyres and brakepads. forkseals i have, the rest will come eventually, trying to get registered in about 2 months.

ill start a project thread later.

stats:
kawi 750 air/oil cooled (hey it runs well still)
62 000km, no smoke, pulls hard, revs even.
full book, swingarm bearing, fork seals and few bits and bobs included.
new battery, plugs, chain etc.
paid $1600 (probably overpaid. but it really is a lovely bike apart from some cosmetic stuff)

ROFL....

i can post some limited pics up now, ill be picking her up tomorrow hopefully. yes yes yes, and i will always hear it, its probably not worth the 1600 i payed for it, but its one of those bikes i just love... ill keept for a long time even though i probably cant afford it, and will be rebuilt when she finally goes pop.

why spend 4000 on a newer bike when i can fix up and half rebuild a classic!

just a quickie as well, will be resprayed soon, just a temp thing. and WHEN cash does appear (car rego is due soon too) she will be given a healthy dose of some cafe treatment, or streetfighter (id love some simple touches like new indicators, bellypan and yeah...

hey mate.. welcome...

weve probably all bought a bike we paid too much for in our lives... but this one has the right badge on the tank at least!!

get rid of the headlight and shroud.. put a nice fighter light on it (i hate single round ones)... bar end mirrors... thats a good start!!
