yep, they look hot............until they gore you when you drop the bike in the driveway.......or low-speed lowside on some diesel spill, and the bar-end goes clean through your leg ........

Not from a bar end (was footpeg) but my old man still wears a nice scar (divot) on his calf to this day because he slipped @ home just riding this bike down the back yard.
The impale is one thing, having to slide yourself off it is a whole other thing.

Isn't this topic "bodywork and bling mods" ocasionally it just seems to be a slaging match if someone voices there opinion on a style of sportbike mod that they like the style of, thought it was an appreciation of mods that you can do to your bike, and an appreciation of motorcycles in general, lets face it we all have a common interest of the motorcycle.
OK if you have an opinion and you want to get your point across but thought it was a bit harsh Strika, some people on this forum do like the neons, lowering and extended swingarms.

Strika i have Neons / LED, Air ride suspension, rear view camera etc etc etc and am in the process of extending the swingarm on my 7.

I think by now most people have voiced there opinion on the topic of these bar ends and fairing bolts and know who likes / dosen't like them and the implications of using them.

Some people like to do trackdays / racing etc
Some like Neons / Air Ride / Turbos and bling mods etc

As i mentioned earlier each to there own.

Some may consider me a "Wanker" for my penchant for corners . If so, feel free to call it as you see it. This is a forum, which by definition, is designed to be a mechanism for people to express opinions??? My opinion is that those mods are for wankers. Harsh it may be, but once again, you are not sitting at this end of the keyboard with the benefit of knowing how I would say such a thing. If we were in person, face to face, and you mentioned that you were into neons, extended swingarms and the like, I WOULD most definately, laugh at you and while laughing, say "You Wanker"! It's my opinion...harsh as it may be........it's honestly how I feel about that sort of stuff . But....please......it' doesn't mean I don't like you, and I would say exactly the same thing to my best mate, if he suggested he was to embark on those sorts of mods! Except, I'd prolly say something like I said to Gos when he suggested fitting Neons ot the MFP12,......"You fucking idiot" I think was what I called him from memory!!! He still talks to me though!!

The sort of mods I like are the ones that involve some craftsmanship. I don't care if it's a chopper, cafe racer or a dumped and stretched hirebus, if it's had some quality custom work put into it I can appreciate what's been done to get it that way....even if that means there's a spike or two on there.

What I don't like is the bolt-on custom's. You know the ones where the owner has basically thrown a whole heap of money at the bike and paid someone else to bolt on as many mods as they can possibly fit, poured a bucket load of the latest crazy paint on it so it looks like a dog's vomited and then try to pass it off as a show bike and expect me to be impressed. Unfortunately I reckon you're going to see more of the fairing spikes and bar ends on this type of bike than the former, so they aren't really my thing.

Plus I've still got the repair on my jacket where a normal bar end hit me in the guts and tore a bit of the leather near the pocket years ago. Wouldn't have been so lucky if it was a spike so I know I'll never put them on my bike.

Good Luck with the air system Matt . Having seen your old 7 at EC one time , and the attention to detail , I am sure that this system would be just as well thought through . Well done getting it out and into the OS market .

Thanks mate, it was a lot of work to build the 7 and im glad i still get to see it and the new owner takes real good care of it.
MBP Motorcycle Air Suspension is going strong and there are heaps of aussies blinging out there sportbikes these days.

Heres a few pics of the 7 before i sold it.

Please note guys the axle dressup kit for swingarm pivot, front and rear axle, barends, frame sliders etc i machined up are 30 degrees chamfers, went for a more clean look.
