Goose of the Week...Smittys fave post
for this weeks entertainment , we have -

'Hoon' clocked at 110km/h

A 17-year-old male from Melbourne had his car impounded for the second time in three weeks after being clocked travelling at more than double the speed limit.

The Altona teenager was caught speeding between 110km/h and 120km/h in a 50km/h zone  along the esplanade in the bayside suburb of Williamstown, about 7.15pm last night.

Police seized the car under Victoria's anti-hoon laws, a police spokeswoman said.

It comes as News Ltd reports Victorians will soon be able to dob in reckless drivers via a hoon hotline.

Police have impounded more than 4,120 cars since Victoria's anti-hoon legislation was introduced in July 2006. Under the three-strikes anti-hoon laws, vehicles are impounded for 48 hours for a first offence, three months for a second indiscretion and permanently for a third breach of the law over a three-year period.

This year alone, 718 cars have been confiscated for 48 hours and another 150 have been impounded for three months.

I'd call doing 110 in a 50 zone being a hoon. I'm just trying to imagine some halfwit doing that down my street, where we always have kids walking or playing, cars backing out of driveways etc.

Fucken idiot needs to take a reality check.

Nah, the police agree, the law makers don't!

You don't think 110km/h down the Esplanade in Williamstown/Altona makes him a hoon??? Like how stupid does he need to be to qualify, it's summer, it's a highly built-up residential area, there is a beach on one side of the farking road.

Am I missing something?

Perhaps that's true but getting busted for the same thing twice in two weeks makes him a knobhead.

I live on the Esplanade at the place in question. It's worse during summer, people use it as a drag strip. That, and my bedroom is right on the road, so all you can hear is DOOF DOOF DOOF.

This peanut deserves everything he gets. Especially seeing as it was warm the other night, and there were HEAPS of families with kids about.

There should be no speed limits, kids should be kept off the roads at all costs and anyone stupid enough to buy a house so close to the road should at least have double glazing   ;)

He's a cockhead for sure. But not because he did 110 in a 50! Realistically, if you knew the espie at Williamstown, it's a simple thing to cruise along and crack it open for a bit without any real risk, but it's a known hotspot for the cops, which makes him a fuckhead! And when you have a fully sick pipe which exceeds 457 decibels, it makes it mandatory to nail it!!!! But why they couldn't pick on the fuckheads with straight through exhausts on there Harleys I'll never know! They are worse than the wankers doing 110 in a 50!

In a perfect world. But in a perfect world trackdays would cost as much as a toll and toll roads wouldnt exist in the first place. In the meantime, 110 is a bit much, especially if sustained.

In this case the location seems fairly inappropriate, but in general all this hoon bullshit is completely over rated. I can't believe that it often makes it into the top 10 articles. People seem to have no idea that considerable speeding has been going on for decades and it is constantly happening. It is not news. Fucking HOONS HOONS HOONS! HOON EPIDEMIC, STREET RACING EPIDEMIC! The sensationalist bastards should get the fuck over it.

i guess that makes me a hoon everytime i get on my bike.
i dont know what all the fuss is about , so what he was going a bit quick its not like he was going hypersonic through a school yard.
Victoria obviously has a lot of wanker cops and fuckwit politicians, i got pulled up on sunday (eventually) after overtaking an unmarked cop car(and about 12 other cars)  at about 200 in an 80 zone and when the cop finally caught up with me all he booked me for was crossing double lines and this was a double points weekend. These 2 coppers were absolute legends so thanks to the legend nsw coppers and fuck you to the vic police and pollies

You are either:
1) Some kind of halfwit, or;
2) Having a lend and trying to get people here fired up.
