Get this! - I emailed my fruity X and told him i wasnt prepared to except the offer and gave a counter offer - this is what he replied

"UNfortunately I disagree with you on this point. If we don't except the (lady's name) offer I do not believe we will recieve anything, if the (lady's name) go bankrupt or enter into a debt agreement we stand to get much less again. We will be lucky if she even still has the cheque that she had previously offered to use to pay at least some of this debt."

How pissed off am I

Tell him to eat shit.... he prob does anyway....lol...... and that you will do what you want.... at the end of the day, you need to do what is right for YOU..... who cares about some Ex.... do what will make YOU happy and the rest can get stuffed!

Dont be mistaken - i learnt that lesson some time ago! - i dont do anything i dont want to, but my problem is it's a joint settlement..

f*^$#@ the whole thing - I'll do nothing- the solicitor cant do anything without joint consent so they can chase the money.. they will hav to if they want to get paid... worst case senario the bloody thing drags on for another 6 years.. accrews interest and is a major inconvenience for the payer.... i might go insane..but i'm almost there already
