They are brand new but the catch is they have no full factory warranty.
I also think they are recomplianced 2000 models that were probably never sold and brought out here.
Despite this they are a great bike and would be a good addition to anyones garage.
Good Buy champ and nice ride.
Thanks Jibbers, Think We will be going this route for the "lovely n Talented" she's keen as mustard, but seat height has her beat on the ole fzr6. So we've discussed her buying something she can nearly flat foot for 12 months then see where we are. She really wants a Red 02 'zx6r but theres no point spending 10k on a bike that will be bounced off the blinkers every second ride.

Does anyone know if the importers bring out the zxr400s as well ?.

ZXR400s are VERY popular as trackday bikes. (There were two race prepped ones at the last trackday). Being that they were built up until 2002, they're still pretty popular.
Go down to toprider at Nerang, you'll find a couple there, as well as race prepped VFR400s and the such. Though I doubt you'll have much luck finding a ZXR400 road bike.
400s sell very well in Japan thanks to the licencing situation there.

brett, dont know who the importers are but there are pretty common on
http://www.autotrader.com.au. Very cheap aswell.
i was thinking between an rgv250 or zxr400 for a track bike.

Those RVF400's that Ultimate do on the Sunshine Coast look the part as well. Think they are an uprated version of the VFR400.
I also think from memory that Shogun Honda was doing those ZX2R's as well.

Who else thinks seeing mina on an RGV250 would make them laugh??
Dude, I think you maybe a bit tall for the RGV. The pegs are pretty high and even though they have heaps of power for a 250, I think you may be just a tad too big for it. Personally I think you wouldn't get the *best* experience possible form an RGV250.
An RGV in relatively good condition will set you back (about) $2500 to $3500. So IMO I would save a little more (only $2000 or so) and get yourself another 7R for the track. Check ebay, I have seen them on there from anywhere from $4000(ish) upwards.
That way the track experience should help you more directly when your on the road ('cause your using a similar bike).
That way having 2 x 7R's you always have spares
Anyway, good luck which ever way you go mina. It will be great to see you out on the track. I know it has helped me learn more about riding and my bike.
Brett, good luck finding a 400 for the - "lovely n Talented". Maybe you might have to look at the Honda VFR400!! Even though its not a Kawa, they are pretty neat bikes. I quite like them, they have a cool little single sided swing arm too. Looks great. Getting one that hasn't been "tracked" may be a small issue though
Enjoy guys

yep, the vfr400r/rvf400 is one of the only hond*'s i'd consider having, as a second bike of course....
we had great fun last year when my mate lent me his for 3.5 weeks....that was when the bikers anon dudes got the mobile chicane tag cause tim was carving them up on the 400
check out the car in the photo.
one thing about the vfr400's is the seat is pretty low, i feel like i'm sitting on the ground.

Thanks Phil yep low seat ht, twin front discs & some ponies are the pre-requisits I'm after for the "lovely n talented" Janelle. May talk to an importer n tee up him locating a zxr4 n shipping it in for us. We dont want to go the Rhonda route if we can avoid it.
Cheers Brett

The last place i saw a zxr400 was yamaha at toombul sitting in their lot,it looked a fair enough sort of thing at the time and yeh its heaps lower to the ground for the inseam impaired,I didnt bother the salesman though because i thought i would be better off getting a new bike at the time.

thats not a bad idea. But i was also thinking something lite for the track. thats why i wanted the 2 stroke 250. I'll keep an eye out for a 7r that i can fix up and do up as a track bike.
i have also promised myself that after i have hit 40,000 to 45,000 on the 7r, i'd upgrade to a 10r hopefully but that doesnt look like its gonna happen for a while. so i'll look for a trackbike either way.
