KSRC Trivia Competition..

While talking to a few people over the weekend it was decided that it might be a good idea to run a KSRC trivia thread.

The rules are pretty straight forward.
1. There will be 3 questions asked, one in each of three catagories
2. The 3 catagories will be 1. General Knowlage; 2. General Motorcycle Knowlage; and 3. Anything to do with KSRC.
3. The first person to reply with the 3 correct answers will get to take over the position of Quiz Master. The current Quiz Master and / or Mods will be the final decision makers on what are right or wrong answers.
4. The winner will have 24 hours to post their 3 questions from the time that they have been told that they have all three correct questions, if they don't post them within 24 hours the previous Quiz Master will retain the title and get to post another 3 questions.

If this takes off we will have a trophy for the person who wins the most amount questions at the end of the year and they will be crowned KSRC QUIZ MASTER

So since I was the one to come up with brillent idea I'll kick things off with an easy set......


1. Where is the coastline of the Australian Capital Territory and how long is it?
2. Where was the now long gone 3.6km road racing curcuit located on the outskirts of Sydney and when & how long was it in operation for?
3. When did KSRC first come into being (Year & month)?

the coastline of the ACT is located at Jervis Bay NSW, and is about 15km in length ?

The 3.6km track was at Mt Druitt. Racing here kicked off in 1948, but the circuit was not fully sealed until 1952. Racing continued here until 1958, when the NSW Speedways Act stopped a lot of racing !!! bastards !!!!

KSRC kicked off in August 2002 ?

1..which one..???the answer is there are several

2...hmmm ...Amaroo in Annangrove was opened in '67 and shut in '98
but it was only about 2 and a bit km long
then
there was Warwick Farm , its about the right length
it closed in '73 with one PeeBrock winning the last race there
...but can you say its on the outskirts of Synney...probably was in 1973
so Warwick Farm

3....which KSRC?

how do I edit my post ?? KSRC as an entity kicked off in April 2004, the Yahoo groups started in 1999.

Smitty - the ACT only has 1 coastline - the others you are thinking of are 'Commonwealth territory', not 'ACT territory'.
