Mmm Snap On , gotta worry about the price of these tools . Sure they are good , but a new set of Stanley screwdrivers every 5 years should keep you going OK and you will still have some change .

After 50 years A little over priced .

U need 2 sets. snap-on 1st, at $80-$100 for 4 screwdrivers u respect them and they last forever, then a cheap set to use as chisels.

I'm being shipped off down to Warnambool for a job next week ( maybe ).I am planning on calling in to see these guys and peruse the full catalogue available to them.
I already own many Minimax tools and I'm very happy with them.

got to agree on stanley's.

Stanleys are ok, I have my share of them. Sidchrome is now owned by Stanley (so I believe) so they are probably made in the same factory. However I think the quality has dropped away in the last few years and I wouldn't be surprised if the cheaper end of their range is now made in China. I've knackered some of the smaller ones quite easily, and I have ones of a similar size from 10 years ago which still look quite new. They used to have a large flat tip years ago which had the tang go all the way through the handle and into an end you could whack with a hammer like a chisel, but they stopped making those and mine got stolen.

They had Stanley tang-thru screwdrivers available in 6mm,8mm,10mm and 12mm tips
in lengths from 150mm to 300mm

Buy the best you can afford.... and stick to well known brands ....

Heard of the terms "good enough" and "diminishing returns"? Unless you're rich it pays to take that into consideration.

Kinchrome used to be perfectly good enough for the home mechanic, but it looks like most of there stuff is now made in China.

We use it at work and about 3 years ago bought 3 complete Kinchrome tool kits (biggish ones) We bought another one a few months ago for the same price, and it was much lower quailty, the spanners are noticeably crap - a few are bent or broken already. The screwdrivers are crap too - broke a couple by using them as levers (no excessive force), very brittle.
