Just a quick q for any other er6 riders, what kind of milage you getting cos im getting 160 to 180 on urban froma full tank not using the reserve and thinking this aint right. Just normal commuting stuff bit of a squirt from the lights but nothing mental.

Cheers Graeme

200-220 until the little light comes on. uses about 10 litres. under 5 litres for ballarat-melb. (110k plus getting stuck on the westgate) I'll watch it next time I fill up.
maybe your light comes on earlier?

edit. 200k from 9 litres when I filled it this morning (Tuesday)

That doesn't sound right Graeme, I'd expect 220+ from a tank before reserve (based on average tank capacity and motorcycle fuel efficiency, not any specific experience with a n ER6). When you say a full tank not using reserve, exactly how many litres of fuel are you putting in the bike after the 160-180km's, and what makes you think it needs fuel if you don't have the reserve light on? - perhaps you're trying to say that you get about 160-180km's before the reserve light comes on?

Is the bike stock? Any mods to the pipe, filter, gearing? What sort of fuel do you run? ULP 91, PULP 95, PULP 98, diesel? Do you ride everywhere in first gear bouncing off the limiter? :) How many km's do you have on the bike?

Hrmm well 5400 ks, yes i meant till the low fuel light comes on. Full tank to the edge of the filler ie not till it overflows through the overflow hole! No bouncing of the rev limiter. Just normal commuting, and i've tried every type of fuel though i don't like the noise it makes with diesel so i stopped using that...
No mod's yet still waiting for em to arrive from the states.

Ta for the replies :D

Its not far off its 6000 k service so might wop it in to get it checked out early.

Something doesn't seem right at all. How many litres of fuel go in to fill it back up when the light comes on? Perhaps the reserve light is simply coming on too early? You could pack 2 litres of fuel in a drink bottle and ride around till it runs out to see how many km's you're really getting out of a tank.

Yeah im thinking this aint right as all the figures im getting from online say it should be about 220 to 250 urban.
Going to try running it dry or almost dry to see exactly whats what today. Will also have a word to the Kawa guys
when i get my M3's put on today, woo cant wait for some decent rubber :D :D :D :D

cheers for the responses :D

You might want to check how many litres you put in next fuel stop. My Z1000 always has about 1 litre left in it, even when its spluttering and dying and running out of fuel! Maybe the way the tank is designed on the Z means that it can't use the last ltr or so, effectlivy reducing the amount of K's per tank? It might be the same on the ER6?

That said I only get 220 km out of my tank with all the mods.............

2005 ER-6n with 30 000 km. Run ULP (91 RON) ave. fuel consumption = 22 km/litre (urban/touring). Worst ever was 19 km/litre (100-140kmh tour) best was 24km/litre - included coasting all the way down the Elephant Pass in Tassie !
