so u heard much abt the zed??

got the cans...have been waiting for a spare $1k for pc3,filter and tuning..reckon i should chuck a air filter in and take a punt on the pc3??...just that u can save a few $$ with a pc3/filter package sumtimes....

plus i get to be one of those cool ppl who hasa pc3!!

Thats not really that bad an idea, some people dont like loud(er) exhausts and spending the money on a PCIII rather than a slipon would be of more benefit in a $ sense in sorting out the power delivery across the rev range - who knows might even beef up the midrange a smidge on the R1?

I run a BMC road filter and a slip on and from the feel/sounds of things my bike runs fine in the top half of the rev range but around town under load it is popping and burbling a bit, so maybe a tad rich?? Not really sure. I sometimes get some loud backfiring happening.

Would like to get a PCIII to sort out things but if I spend any more money on my bike (besides tyres and servicing) I cant help but think it will be on re-working the suspension. Ive set it up just the way I want it but have to forego its composure over bumpy roads to get it feeling absolutely sublime on the smoother stuff - if only there was some way to adjust damping settings on the fly BMW ESA style :)

My 10 pops, burbles, farts and bangs all the time, but on the dyno the A/F was fine...it's to do with the KLEEN air system and if you do the block off mod it reduces it apparently. Spend the money on the suspension 8)

Apparently mine can get a nice bit of flame out the pipe when it happens so I want to keep it ;)

How about you spend the money on the suspension, then just before you sell the bike, take it all off and send it to me for a greatly discounted price? You can't go wrong ;)

thanks again everyone for the feedback.

im going to go with tyres and hopefully some suspension work then the next mod after that will be the PCIII + dyno runs etc.
Zenodamper has already sorted the front for me a while back but i really want some magic worked on the back so it handles even better :)

What suspension work are you thinking of getting done and who are you getting to do the work.

Sorry i didnt respond here earlier - i forgot to check back

Ive had the front revalved/Sprung etc by zenodamper down at SPM at taren point
i want to get him to do the rear shock now.

the upgrades to the front made such a massive improvement to the handling of the bike im hoping if i do the rear as well i will get more great results.
Either that or wait 6 months and buy the 08 zx10 ;) (i wish)

The only problem is you will have to start again with all the mods. So was the front suspesion was small or great and what did you have done and what cost?

You must all remember that custom dyno tuning is a reasonable money maker for tuners & they will always put doubt in your mind, in relation to A/F ratios.
I know of a tuning shop that attempts to convince their customers to have a tune in the winter & another in the summer!
I have a PC3 USB and I am currently using the Power Commander map for an 03+ Z1000 with Muzzy full exhaust (uploaded from PC's website). Tuning shops have advised me that this really needs a custom tune, as every bike varies considerably and could be running lean...
Sure I may be able to gain a few ponies with a custom map, but we really are just dealing with sales people...
/Rant. :D
