Quiet Helmet Suggestions

I have a Shoei RF 900 and it's way quieter than other lids I own, perhpas Shoei stuffed up the engineering on the diabolic.. who knows..

I have heard this aswell....

When shopping for a helmet look for one without vents and stuff.... they only make noise... and I am yet to find a helmet vent that actually does anything usefull...

I found that my helmet the HBC did something useful

When my head hit the road, it absorbed the impact. However, some will state that since the accident, i'm slightly weirder.

Actually more air vents can reduse noise, i know they are mainly for expelling air out of the helmet but they also can reduce noise by making the helmet more aerodynamic. But the main noise comes from the neck. Best to buy a helmet with more padding or denser padding as well as going out and buying neck warmer (usually used for skiing) from kathmando or something.

Then again cars are pretty quiet, not as fun though!

In a recent ''Ride" Magazine helmet noice comparison the Schuberth won the gong for quietest helmet. They are not avail here in Oz though. The BMW helmet (Sport Integral) was rated 2nd quietest (Also made by schuberth but avail from Oz with Full AS1698 certification. The midrange AGV rated well, with the Arai mid range lid rating a little better than the AGV. I think I posted a link in here somwhere's a few weeks back, but farked if I could be arsed going finding it!

yea was on that same thing that talked up the blueflame cans!!

Ear plugs are the way to go mate.

Make you go faster too

My Arai Vector is pretty good, quite noticeably better than my old AGV. Still tend to use earplugs for long distances, though.

i just bought a shark RSI and found it a lot quieter than my old RSF. it still has a bit of noise but it very easy to tell its all from the neckline with this helmet, its very quiet everywhere else. havn't tried it with a neckwarmer but i'd be thinking that would cut most of the noise (as would tucking behind a screen if i had a bike with faring )

I confirm you that Schuberth helmets are the best for silence. It's like a cocoon
