Same for kms for me, NEVER use opticrap tho, mostly BP Ultimate. I've found that Caltex Vortex gets the least kilometre-age, by about 30km if I remember correctly.

Currently I'm getting 15/16km / L on the 636. Mind you im being very open handed with the throttle a bit :P

sorry to dig up this old thread, i'm getting 6l/100km on my '02 ZX 636. (i.e. 250km before hitting the reserve).

I guess that's normal then. I used to run 380km on my GPX before hitting reserve!

First tank of fuel on the ZX10, I got 16.49km/l, works out to roughly 280km

First of all you own a ten, it's not exactly built for fuel economy - you wouldn't see Ferrari owner checking fuel comsumption.

Secondly it depends on how you ride. If you regularly use WOT (wide open throttle) in the twisties, you'll use more fuel than if you ride along the freeway at 5000rpm.

Thirdly, the 10 has a very large reserve. The fuel light comes on with 5L left in the tank, from a whole tank of 17L. On the freeway the light tends to come on at 220-230Km and around town at around 180-200Km. If you head straight to a close by servo the fill up will be 12-12.5L, head for some serious twisties and you'll see the fuel light at around 150Km.

As previously said, when the engine is new it is tight and takes a bit extra fuel whilst it beds in. This does improve, although the right wrist may start to get more active as you get used to the bike. For some great info on the ZX10R, go here. It is a yank site, but full of great info none the less.

Can people stop giving just distances? It doesn't mean jack without knowing how much fuel you used.

I get 4.5 L/100km (22 km/L) on the GPX250.

How about this then.

X is each time I filled up from 21/6/06 to 12/5/07, Y is Economy in L/100km with error bars set at 1SD and a trend line. Bike is a 2005 ZX10R with around 31,800km on the clock, 17L tank and kicks onto reserve with around 3-4L left.

...is that enough detail?

fwiw I also get around 6.5l/100km - '99 ZX9R.
Sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less, depending on how I ride.
I do around 150kms every day and normally put in around 10ltrs

Less than 5L/100km on a trip on the GT550- 430km to the 21.5L tank. I know it can do slightly better- this figure is two up, and some city work. Highway only by myself on a long trip might get 23km/L. :)
