how to make a Yoshi RS5 loud.

Remove the baffle

i recently bought a yoshi Rs5 for my zx6 and was alittle dissapointed that it wasnt louder.

last week was up the old road chatting to dave#3 and he looked at my exhaust and said "i reckon you could unscrew that baffle". and we talked about how to do it.
then i did some research on the net and discovered that these yoshis come with a "race" baffle in them to make fit under some 96 db sound reg in usa. (something like that anyway)

so today i drilled out the rivets and removed the end cap and unscrewed the baffle.

Instant sound improvement.

You could always chop it

i didnt take any pictures.
its pretty straight forward though, just drill out the rivets and pull off the end cap.
then you will see the nut that is holding the baffle in. mine actually had a weld on it to stop it rattling out so i grinded the thing off.
then the baffle slips out.

then just rivet the end cap back in place (and throw baffle in the bin - cause you no doubt will never want to use it again).

only thing i can say is...why pay good money for an aftermarket can that u have to modify urself?? isnt that the point of buying the thing??

i wouldnt say its really a modification. i think the race baffle is meant to be removed or left in according to your own tastes or rules you wish to comply with.
problem is with this particular exhaust is that they dont make it all that easy to remove the thing so its a bit of a job to get it out for the first time.

to be honest though i didnt know this pipe had the removable baffle in it till dave pointed it out otherwise maybe i could of ordered the pipe with no baffle or removed it before i even fit the pipe. Either way it ended well for me.

After viewing said pipe today I can understand why you would poo poo the idea of a chop & it does sound sweet but the 2bros still got the top vote for sound just

The two Bros is pretty sweet . but they were just a bit too far out of my budget. one day when i upgrade to a 10 i wont spare any expense
