Amen to that brother.........

I have to say though that the 14's brakes are way better........but I still reckon a 12 would hose a 14 through a good set of twisties, ie anything posted <80kmh up or down a mountain..........

hmm i kno a few ppl who will beg to differ with u...

they apparently steer and handle every bit as well as the 12r, from the few reports ive read/heard...

Plas even went as far as saying he'd buy the 14 over the 12 if he sold his 6 cos he thought it handled better...

then again, personal opinions vary...

i still reckon the zed is better than both!!...mwahahaha

theres really only one way to sort this out, get a couple of 12s and a couple 14s and test them out on somewhere like macquarie pass. you get the nice open curvy roads from albion park out to the mountain then the nice tight hill climb. any takers?

I test-rode the first 14 delivered here last year. It had 87km on board......and 166 when I took it back  (then jumped straight back onto the MFP12, so it was a back-to-back comparison).....

They go really fast, they stop well (even a bit *too* well), they do steer OK, and the *handling* is good ie it holds a line at speed over bumps, no wobbles etc etc............but there are 2 really important things that stop it being a good scratcher...

1. Wheelbase. These babies are long......they change direction OK, but they are not *razor* sharp by any stretch of the imagination...

2. Clearance. I decked my feet twice on the test-fang, without meaning to !! It was very suprising - on what I would only consider a medium amount of *fang-factor*, the footpegs were almost scraping.

Any well-ridden 12 would hose a 14 in tight stuff. Its that simple. On the big open sweepers, there would be bugger-all in it. A 12 can get motorvating just as quickly up to 240+ as a 14.

Where the 14 shines is in *comfort* - the bars are a lot higher and wider than the 12, the seat feels lower, and overall the riding position just feels a lot like the old ZZR11/1200's did........
