Scotsman on a ZXR250 in Oz - Och Aye ! Hi All.

Sat Apr 14, 2007 10:30 pm

Hi to all you Green Meanie Riders out there ! :D

Scottish Stu here, been living in Oz since 2000, been around a bit, but mostly lived in Brissie and Sydney - Now settled in Botany with a mortgage, 2 year old kiddie, and all the other stuff that comes with it.

I was building up a FZR400 (3TJ), then another FZR400 (1WG With 600 motor) but got sick of looking for spares .....Plus I found out I have to ride as a P plater for 12 months even though I am over 30 years old...

So sold the lot and just bought a Kwakka. (Always liked Kawasaki more than Yamaha anyway, ever since I saw a ZXR 750 popping on the overrun down a hill after screaming itself silly down a straight when I was 15 years old, I wanted one badly ! )

I now run an Aqua Blue ZXR250 (1989 A model), and thought I'd better go legal and get my licence ! (The Highlands in Scotland did'nt really have many cops about, so just arsed about with my lil bikes with no bike licence  , and a modded Golf Gti on the twisties )

Been a while since I have had a bike (14 years .... !!) but ....

Took the wee 250 out today for my first proper shakedown run / test -

WOOOOHOOOOOOO !! I know it's only a wee beastie of a bike, but man I loved it !

Screams it's little nuts off, and put a great big smile on my dial that's for sure

Anyway, I like talking about bikes, cars, anything with motors, I used to be a fitter / offshore / forklift / hydraulic / crane technician, so like to occupy myself with pulling shit apart and rebuilding it !

Good to be on board the KSRC forum, hope to upgrade to a bigger bike soon, but one step at a time !

Catch you all in the forum.

Cheers.

Stu.
