My wife has an 06 636 and bought crash knobs, they had all the brackets etc and seem to be pretty good.

yeh i was thinking crash knobs aswell... where bouts did you get them from, how for how much?

well i did crash test my 05 ZX6R crash's twice..... they worked very very well. (the actual genuite crash knob brand) although the second time..... only a protective bubble would have stopped and damage..... ooops...... something about a bike tumbling down the side of a mountain road....... kinda fucks things up a bit!

Got em from southern highlands motorcycles, not sure of price, think it was around the $200 mark. They are quite pricey because they have the brackets etc.

Bowral still has a dealer and Paul has started up a kawasaki dealership in Mittagong (new and used bikes, service parts etc) service prices are cheaper than most as labour rate is less, also you get a good job done first time. On the shelf prices may be high but if you ask you will get a better price than sydney/parramatta dealers. We've bought two bikes from him (GPX250, ZX636) both heaps cheaper than any deal I could get from another dealer.

just put my order in for knobs from rg-racing.com... should hopefully receive them in the next couple weeks... not looking forward to installing them tho... heard its a bit of prick to do it on the 05 zx6r...

plus last nite, i removed the rear fender (what a b!tch that was), and mounted the number plate to the exhaust with a couple small L brackets...

EDIT: Pic posted

I still have the cable that attaches to the globe on the original fender running through/under the exhaust. does anyone else still have that cable attached, just incase, or have they just cut it off?

easy to put the crash's on, just takes a bit of time coz youve got to remove the fairing side panels etc.

With your number plate remember that you still need to have a number plate light to keep it legal. You can use a superbright LED (couple of bucks from Dick Smiths) or get a small one from a trailer place.

Have you thought about putting on some mini indicators and making up a stainless steel shield for the exhaust? Like a CBR600 eliminator. I though about it but haven't got around to it yet.

arrgghhhh.... just got my crash protectors from rg racing.. you have to cut the fairing...!!! i was not keen on doin this...

i know i can get a set of crash protectors off ebay for $100 shipped that i dont have to cut the fairing, however they are not as good quality as the rg racing ones...

has anyone else had to cut the fairing?
