I used to have a pic I took with my cell phone of a GOOD lightening strike...but I can't get it on the computer now....I deleted it after I took it.

aaaah...sorry
I put that up coz....
it shows bits of Australia and lots of contrast

the vivid blue sky (nothing else like it in the world)
the vast brown land we have here
(Australia is the oldest continent)
contrast that with a modern day plane

the bit of green is part of our Murray/Darling river system
..one of the largest in the world

I must admit that I was pretty pleased with it, being the first time I'd toyed with shutter speed etc. But just to the right of that pic there is a mountain - with a bloody great tower on it - which I should have had centred, but I centred the greatest area of light instead. :oops:
Anyway I saw a pic that was taken from the opposite side and he had caught the lightning striking the tower. That one disappearing out the right side of my pic. :oops:
