FYI, Ventura racks and bags...on a ZX-10R.

They look a bit odd, but it's better than trying to fit a week's groceries in your pockets . Maybe it'd be better to shop at a supermarket where they deliver  .

why must it be a top box ?

ventura racks have a ZX10 rack , along with the bag all good to fit your shopping or handbag ;)

if you really must have the top box then you can fit that to the ventura rack

..one of the good things about Ventura racks is that they are double-sided. In the picture above they have the bag sitting over the pillion seat because it gives better weight distribution. However there's nothing to stop you buying two bags and facing the other one backwards when you have a shitload of shopping as the Aero bags zip together. The main rack also pulls off easily when you go scratching (as you should with a 10R).

The only bad things really are that they aren't anywhere near waterproof enough for country Victoria in winter, so wrap items in garbage bags in wet weather...and they don't lock on the bike, so improvise with small padlocks or take them off. I'm pretty sure if you had a thin stainless steel wire rope made up with a loop at each end you could make them damn-near impossible to get off the bike without screwing the bags or the bike...having said that if they want to get in there they would just cut through them with a Stanley knife.

...and having said THAT, you can knock the hinge pins out of a Givi topbox pretty easily as well.

Nothin wrong with the milk crate, if you get the one with seperators, you can fit atleast 9 bottles of plonk in it :)

The Ventura rack looks like a good alternative, thanks! :)

Hehe, and thanks for your support! :D Frankly I feel a bit scary upgrading to the mighty 10 from my tiny little ZZR (although I had no probs riding the friend's SV650).[/quote]

Well damn! If you can handle one of those mighty SV650's, you should find the ten a walk in the park!!!!!!

the 10 aint nothing like any other bike, its evil :D

if you aint already bought one,

get a test ride before you commit yourself to a 10r,

oh and make sure you go past 9000rpm and hold on

then you might reconsider your choice

a sv650 would be like 1/3 the way from riding a 250 to the 10 at the very MOST. Insane gobs ov everything everywhere. Hell i'd be nervous riding one, least of all nervious for my license retention.

You're all a bunch of pussy's!

Get a 10. Then all the 9 & 12 riders will want to be like you

Very wise advice - the 10 is really for experienced riders only, and I think you would be far better off looking at a late-model ZX9 for an upgrade.....these are very quick as well, but just a bit more suited to an upgrade from a 250
