Head Stem Bearings - things that I have learnt

FFS I hope you didnt pay the $80 an hour to have some clown do that to your Scoot Plas.
I mean it's painful doing it yourself but at least you give A crap about how its done.

Nah Ponti...way too cheap to pay somebody, but to be honest its the biggest job I've done on the 6, like you say though, it worth doing ya self, I only had to look at the remains of that locking ring to know that!!

First set of bearings I ahve ever done mate and the locking ring was professionally fucked by BILLS MOTORCYCLES BLAIR ATHOL....after such fine work they deserve a plug!!!

And last bit of steering head bearing advice.

If you are serious, hamfisted monos f*ck head bearings quicker than anything but a front end stack. The only thing worse than the clunk, is the thud of your nuts into the tank.

why did bills touch the locking ring if thats the 2nd set of bearings on the bike?? did they adjust the 1st set??

Neka, I replaced the bearings because i took it to Bills to have them adjusted cause they were loose....that was the result....and they were that tight after that the seal on top was pressed into the bearing seat.

So it looked like that AFTER they Fixed it FFS, Can you Get me a side of Lamb next time ya run past Plas we have the Xmas Barbie coming up.

for the $23.00 it cost me to replace, Bills just lost thousands in servicing, tyres, oils etc. I'll be giving SA Dirt Bikes a go.
