I am staying with a Rennsport front. I am hoping that they will then wear out about the same time. I hate running one new and one half worn tyre. So this will hopefully work. If I can get 7k from the rears I will be chuffed. :) I can get 8K from a front rennsport.

I don't have the skill to handle a 190 though Phil!!!!

cant really comment, havent ridden one with anything different, marty would be better placed to comment. saying that, shauns e2 handles nicely with the 190 rear m3

what it would do is make the bike turn a bit quicker, i rode the big guys 12 that recently had a 190 fitted instead of the oe 200 and its like a different bike - it actually wants to turn in

with the grip available i havent been able to get mine to break loose so i dare say lack of grip wont be an issue.

this was one of the first mods the local K dealer advised me about when the oe 208's were stuffed. On of the boys in the workshop also said for serios track work, he would drop to a 180  it makes a 12 turn in even quicker than a 190....have not tried this myself yet, maybe someone else out there has bunged a 180 on a 12 ??

I tried a 180 when I had a 12 and couldn`t wait to get it off, stick to the 190 on a 12 but on the 9 the 180 is slighty better than the 190. Unless you are a straight liner then stick to the 190.

What alota numbers

Err Hi! Phil here.........

I wouldn't bother with the 190. Unless cafe credibility is important to you! If so, then go the 190. But......if you want the 9 to handle really well.......have a go at the 180! they steer in much easier, they are less prone to bump steer, they have loads of side grip, and the feedback is exceptional from my brief ride on them. I certainly won't be fitting 190's unless there is no alternative!

On yesterdays ride, I had a little more competitive environment to test the M3's in! In other words, there was a rider amongst us who could actually steer a bit good! Real good in fact. So at certain points I had a little dip! On each and every occasion where I tried to be a little more aggressive, the back end stepped out. Now, I am not talking from throttle usage either. I am talking about edge grip at full or near full lean. For the most part since I fitted these tyres, my rides have been smooth, sedate road rides. Yesterday, at a couple of points, this unnamed certain rider, rocketed past, and gave me reason to start using brakes into the turns and getting a little more body english involved. Each time I started carrying full leans, the rear got grumpy! Tack was in the box seat on one particular occasion to see exactly what I am talking about. I had just completed an inside pass on a car in a right hander where you could see through, and straight lined it past the car, and then threw it onto it's side to turn it, and whoa!!! the arse lets go! I was not on or off the gas, was just agressive throwing it onto it's side, and it let go! This happened on about 6 occasions yesterday. So at this point, I will be returning to a Racetech come replacement time. I might fiddle with teh pressure to see if it effects things at all. But at this stage, they havn't enough edge grip for me liking! :(

Edge grip on the road has nothing to do with it being a 180 or a 190. It's to do with the compound of the rubber and it's construction.

This is how they look after 2000 km. I'm thinkin I'll be pushin to get 5000, so much for a hard centre compound.

Kaz wanted to take a picture of the elephant (Mal did really).... 8)
