Saw an ad for this site - good to see some movement on this issue. Let's hope people power makes a difference!

If only Foxtel had competition or had a policy of "only if you watch it, you pay"
My connection sits idle all week until there is some motogp or WSBK racing but last nights Magny-Cours race was worth the cost, supersport race sucked!!
Free to air TV is still a licence to print money.
Bring on HDTV over the Internet

I thought someone had a website protesting this sports issue.

These people are deluding themselves if they think sports like Volleyball, Table Tennis, Croquet or whatever are ever going to be shown even OUT of prime time, high profile sport = more viewers = better ratings = better advertising revenue, very simple equation that's older than Smitty even and not likely to change in the next millenium unless we get a SEN1116 (dedicated sports radio station for those interstaters) of TV, and even then it's still unlikely)

Ditto, Would gladly sign up if it would meen seeing the F1 live and having better commentry, but I know that in reality it would still be pushed back in the time slots for the footy or some other shit, unless they had a dedicated motorsports channel but again F1 would be shoved aside for the V8's and others the weekends clashed with.
The only reason we dont have Foxtel is because there is nothing worth watching on it apart from the moto gps and supers. I dont want to pay for the crap cartoons, pathetic american sitcoms, american reality programmes, and all that football, soccer, tennis and cricket - YAWN.
my 2c rant is now over thank-you for your time and patience.

IMO If 7,9,10 want to pay for the rights and not show it live than stiff shit and give it to Foxtel..
I'm sick to death of stuff being live in one state and not in Vic, then finding that Foxtel's replay is actually before the station with the rights.. It's an utter load of bullshit.
If you don't want to play it live then give it to foxtel, end of story.. Or play it on a digital channel... No excuses.
If i'd get sports live via Digital then I work fork out and buy a decent Digital set top box.

Commercial free to air stations have stuffed it for themselves. Who the hell wants to watch Big Brother, Australian (not enough talent to make it on my own) Idol, Dancing with Has Beens, Once was a Celebrity Survivor and the other drivel they put on because it's cheap to produce.
They then bump decent shit back to fit this crap in. When you do get to watch something decent it's peppered with ads. I'll happily pay my $100 for Foxtel
I reckon they should lose any sporting event that they won't show live.

Try watching House or NCIS on a wednesday..
It's farking rediculous.. One week it's new, the next they're repeats, the next 1 is new and the next the other is new... Since when has any station down a bl00dy shuffle of a season of a TV show so that you don't know what's going on week to week unless you try to keep tabs on the preview commercials. And then you have nothing to watch when it's repeat central..
It's almost getting as bad as non stop simpsons, which is now futurama.. yay..

I watch the bike racing, a bit of rugby league and if there's nothing else on, some of the docos on Discovery on Foxtel. Sal watches a few of the cooking shows.
The rest of my viewing I download. No ads, watch it when I want and months ahead of Aussie telly.
Shows like Lost, Prison Break and Desperate Housewives have already started in the US.
And quality action/drama like Spooks in the UK will never be shown here.
Thank God (well, ARPANET anyway) for the internet.

... and another great example of the uselessnes of free to air.
Wanna watch the tri nations Rugby on Saturday? Nine have the rights and are broadcasting it on a 90 minute delay. Why you ask?
Well, because we can't move Australia's Funniest Home Video's can we...

I'm sure the Honda Rider only got Boxtel so he could watch Hogans Heroes and the A team....
BTW, Spooks was on the ABC last year (good show, too)
Its bad enough that certain sports have their finals rearranged just to maximse a tv networks ratings, but to have "exclusive" rights and then show it on delay, like swans games in sydney, p's me off.

I love my Boxtel... I'm just pissed that Rockstar SuperNova has finished... That left Aust. Idol and the rest for absolute dead...
