u dont need a licence to ride on a track?????????? i was talkin abt it and
jamie/jason wee of the thought that u needed a licence (maybe a cams race
licence??) if u wanted to ride at a track unlicenced??

At the track day i did at QR i met a quite few blokes who'd lost their
licences, track is a good place for speeding with no stop signs (just red
flags)

is it different for a track day

I have never been asked to see my licence at a track day and have done a few.

Real stupid/pointless.

I got done for speeding last November on my CBR250R (108 in an 80). Being on my P's, thats a 4 point offence and wiped me clean in one foul swoop. Not wanting, well thinking i wouldn't be able to bare not riding for 3 months, I elected for a good driving behaviour period (2 pts for a year).

Same thing happened to me except I collected 1 point on the bike (72 in a 60 zone), then a couple of months later 3 points in the car (70 in a 50 zone...stupid Mt Cootha ) So i too chose the 1 yr good driving behaviour bond. I've got until May 2005 and so far Im doing pretty good, touch wood. Have to be a little more cautious out on rides but I'll be on my opens soon with a fresh set of points

Umm here's a question for any1 who's up to date on traffic laws or if anyone has a cop friend: If you become eligible for an open licence (i.e. you've had ur R class provisional licence for 3 yrs) during your 1 yr good driving behaviour bond, does that mean you can get ur opens and ur 12 points or do you still have to serve out the rest of your time on the 2 points until the bond expires

You'd have to complete your good behaviour period, and upon completion, would get your 12 points.

The system isn't so full of holes these days.
