zx2r rear pads

hi guys,
i am after rear brake pads for my zx2r. i got myself ebc fronts already and now looking for rear. one place told me that it didnt matter what brand rear i got because they all the same. is this true? coz i personally dont believe so.
also does anyone know what the rear brake pads code for ebc? i know my fronts are FA 141 but dunno about my rears.

i jsut recently bought SBS pads for $40 a set... i have been informed also they are the same as EBC pads... i doubt there would be many makers of zx2r pads, plus being a sports 250 there is a certain style of compund that is needed for the rear brake... the front and rear calipers are exactly the same, but hte front compound is more suited for a heavier load as they are your primary brakes, so the bloke was telling me if u use rear pads on the front, u will warp and cain the rotars and fronts on the rear will give u really bad response on the rears so yeah,
i think the compounds would b pretty similar!!, my SBS pads are very good tho! very small, but good! i would say to make a really noticable improvement, Braided lines! but then again its only a 250 and yer not really pulling up much load!

they would be talking abt compounds being the same i assume...

i put hard pads in my rear..last longer, u dont need as much initial bite..but thats just me...

soft race type up front (not too soft), harder on back..

are you sure the rear and the front are the same pattern but diff compound?
i know the zx2r A model has different calipers on the rears. the pads that they use are thicker in size (8mm) compared to the C model (7mm). they also have same shape as the fronts and i found out also that the EBC code for the rear is FA 67/3.

i pulled the front brakes off to check the life on the pad and compared it to the rear and its exactly the same caliper + pad design, but it sounds logically to have a different compound.
I reckon the C model would also have the same calipers as the A.. i assume so anyway!

ok ive called a motorcycle place in adelaide that do stock EBC pads. the problem is that i am after FA67/3 but they only have FA67. i believe the 67/3 are 8mm where as the 67 are 9mm. would that make a diff? they said they cbs ordering just one rear pad for me so they said just get the 67.
my concern is would rub the rotor? make any difference?
if not, ill just get them tmw.

it may work fine, it may not, and unless you can figure out the full back-of-piston-to-the-disk width and how it relates compared to the thickness of the pad and mounting your really only taking a shot in the dark and wouldnt be able to know until you put it in your bike.

Also if you put it in and it rubs, well there's stuff all you can do to make it fit. filing the surface down would probably just end in tears.

take the caliper off and push the piston as FAR back so its flush with the rest of that side of hte caliper, once u have done this try measuring the width plus add in the 9mm plus the bracket on the pad thickness also! this should give u a pretty good idea... 1mm shouldn't make that much difference!

I think the time has come for me to get some new front pads for my ZX2R-C as well (starting to feel an inconsistent braking force between left and right discs).
