They are bound to ask you how fast you were going, and seeing as we are not fully Americanised you cannot claim the 5th amendment.........look them straight in the eyes and answer honestly........" Im not sure sir, I was concentrating on the road! " . They will push you for an answer, but do NOT let any figures slip from your lips

Been there, done that, had the ban

well if he said 183..and bikes only capable of 150..thats 20% wrong....
thats a HUGE margin....

if i undercharged a customer 20% id lose my job....

u should tell the judge that u can only believe 20% of what the cop says..and therefore one in every 5 words is a lie...so im pretty sure the word "speeding" was the lie word..

well we shall see what happens Thursday morning...
Ill leave an update as soon as i can :)

You might want to see if you can get a certificate of calibration for the dyno machine...

..and for all my rant I would just like to point out that I believe there is at least a ratio of 3 good cops to every one like old "183" here.

Aardy is living proof, if he gives you advice damn well take it.
IF he tells you youre a goose, take it on the chin, you prob are...

i see ur point jase....proving the dyno is correct...but if u can say its a 250cc with only 26hp...can that not prove lack of speed??

Wed Jul 19, 2006 12:44 pm

I think it is more a question of proof that the machine is correct, same as radars must be calibrated and proven.
Dont forget it ALSO gives a calculated top POSSIBLE speed too so it is not so much HP etc.
I would suggest in this case it is that far out that it will just be thrown out wholesale.

ROFL ..... :D :D

Innocent until proven guilty - and proof must be beyond reasonable doubt - I think 20% is enough of a margin of error to be reasonable doubt.

*EDIT* If you don't believe that, try being 20% out on your tax return

Do I know you??

At the end of the day, if the copper has made up porky pies, then he's the one that looks like a goose in court. Unless I'm sure of my facts, a simple:
"Hey dickhead, pull ya head in!" normally suffices.
