Fork Oil Change

Who has done a fork oil change on an 03/04 zx6r ? ? , its meant to be part of the 12k service and i know mine hasnt been done so i was thinking . do i do it myself (ive rebuilt the forks on a cbr250 but they were conventional non adjustable forks which was easy) has anyone done it on this bike or a bike with similar forks ? ? i just want to know what specialist tools ill need, and if the cost of the tools adds up to what it would cost to get it done then ill just hand over the keys and the money to someone else to fuck around with it !!

that brings me to my next Q. Where is a good suspension joint on the gold coast that can do this at a reasonable price ? (if u have had it done what was the damage?)

If you just want to change the oil it's easy. you just have to take the top nut off and tip the old oil out and refil to the specified level.

Should have a drain hole, so probably won't even need to remove the forks - just keep the front lifted. Check oil grades and volumes before you start. 1ml difference between the forks will adversly affect your handling.

mate doing the forks is not that easy..... It requires a bit of being clueie otherwise u can fark them up

this was my understanding .. cause i take this bike to the track and attempt to ride it hard (lol note : attempt) i would really like the suspension to be spot on, i know theres no drain hole, ive read the manual u need specialist tools even for just doing the oil change over

1ml difference will hardly cause ADVERSE handling

10,20,30 etc then we might have some probs

Its more Important to pay attention to the air gap than the actual quantity of oil that you put into the forks
