Friggin licence suspended as of 11th November. 6months. Great!
Looks like I wont be making forum rideouts anytime soon (unless they're real soon!).

Real stupid/pointless.
I got done for speeding last November on my CBR250R (108 in an 80). Being on my P's, thats a 4 point offence and wiped me clean in one foul swoop. Not wanting, well thinking i wouldn't be able to bare not riding for 3 months, I elected for a good driving behaviour period (2 pts for a year).
Well, that all came to an end when I rolled through a stop sign at walking pace. 3 points and yeah, so now I get double suspension period. I mean, running a red light will get you 3 points, or speeding by , well anything up to 20ks. I'd have no objections if I blasted through the sign as though it weren't there, but rolling through the thing? (moreso, wasn't in a direction that causes accidents there (lived nearby for 16 yrs).

Thats a serious shame. I have 1 point left on my licence. I'm hoping I won't lose it or Im pretty screwed. I feel so sorry for you, hope you are the same person after 6 months! No riding could change a person! Still, you should have stopped at the stop sign. I make a habit of it even if there is no-one around. It really really really pisses me off when car drivers just go through them and come out in front of me. Like, really pisses me off. Sorry to hear the news though

Heh, how many of us are too damn lazy to stop and put our foot down? I mean really, takes some commitment you got there quarkz. I pay more attention to stop signs these days, as in actually stopping, but I do admit I still do the whole walking pace "stop".
I should definately be able to get a work licence, I have no doubt about that. But its Mt G/Nebo and Cedar flats I fear I'll miss.
Mind you, have had a couple friends had to take the same route, and actually got their licences fully reinstated, with the message along the lines of "see you back in here and we'll throw the book at you" type thing. That'd be awesome. Heres hoping.

Eh, what a shit kempy!
I have a 1 month suspension in my very recent past and it sucked fetid rotting dingo balls. Good luck with it, mate... you really don't want to get caught riding while suspended, so don't get tempted

Heh, some people with experience eh?
Yeah, they did me the favour of including that info with the letter. An extra 6 month suspension, a possible $3000 fine or 6 months imprisonment if i get nicked for riding whilst suspended. And if I keep doing it, or do a number of offences (say speeding for example), I can get a $2500 fine on top of that, or a whopping 18 month stay in prison.
Fun fun fun.

Well that sucks... Looks like you'll be getting your jollies at the track for the next few months... a lot of Track day junkies have started that way...
Not me though....

I have perfected the "come to a complete stop without putting a foot down" technique for the one stop sign that I have to go through sometimes. I don't know if it qualifies as a stop in the eyes of the law though

I know a guy who can balance his bike while it's stopped. He was brought up on a farm, riding before he could walk.
he got cautioned at a stop sign tho, cause 'full stop' on a bike means putting your foot down over here...

That'd be bloody right...they won't even give you any credit for being able to do it in the first place
