there is two sets of butterflies the top set shuts off the air intake when the lever is pulled it also bumps up the idle.
the bottom butterflies are your throttle the fuel is injected above these but bellow the upper butterflies.

the lower butterflies are your throttle the fuel is injected above these

so your still saying that the lever on your 6R will richen the mixture as well as raise the idle if you use it to bring the idle up when the engine is already warm?

aha aswell as choke of the air supply to my combustion engine that burns fuel and breathes air then blows it out the arse
Sat Jul 08, 2006 10:19 pm
thats not how efi works bro
Sun Jul 09, 2006 7:55 pm
thats how a combustion engine works all the efi does is fuel the fire

no jets tho, choke theory out the window

Are you sure its not like my z750?it has 2 sets of butterflys or throttle plates as mentioned, but the rear set work off a servo motor which is connected to the ecu.The idea of this is so that the engine doesnt over air itself on full throttle openings from a closed postion. So yeah they work as an air restictor, but they are independent of the fast idle lever on the handlebars, which is just that,a fast idle lever.

yep, same as spewsukis

okay guys go to your service manuals its not called an efi system its called a dfi system now go to 3-11 its called a choke cable
Mon Jul 10, 2006 11:30 am
says that on my bike too, even tho its technically an enrichener
Mon Jul 10, 2006 2:42 pm
mate... if its in a technical service manual and its called a choke then technically its a choke

As I said at the start I slide the fucker up and smell fuel, sometimes I can even SEE it...
BUT just cause my ZX12R does it, has the same lever, (apparently) same general EFI program and has the same probs with aftermarket pipes does NOT mean that it IS a choke (smaller hole) enricher (more fuel) or whatever, it pumps more fuel in for cold morns. Just making it idel higher would not do it.
See the maps for ZX12Rs (not ZRX) and APPARENTLY (ie told by a dealer and Micron) the Zthous are SET. You can fug all you want with inlets and exhausts the MAP aint gonna reset it self.
Taking that into account I would think it would be obvious that it is NOT just a fast idle (sure it makes it idle fast DOH) but is in fact an enricher or choke. Doesnt really matter HOW it gets the extrea fuel whether by rdducing venturi or increasing fuel the results are the same, ie rich.
