Duane wrote:Dr,

Why does everyone refer to the world as being 'round' or 'a globe' when it's quite obvious that the world is not any shape at all

Because unlike you, people are very narrowminded and kinda dumb...

Duane wrote:with all these mountains and canyons, it cannot simply create a defined shape.

Yes, the shape is kinda worldy isnt it.....

Duane wrote:Hence, what should the world be referred to?

The world is worldly shaped...

Duane wrote:Also When the world was flat, how did it end up not being flat, then being what we now refer to as being round, although it's obviously not.

The world became round after fast food was invented.... As did most of the population...

Dr Stereo, do you agree that as most accidents happen at intersections, then it would be best to go thru them as fast as you possibly can as to spend as little time in accident zone?

And why is this not endorsed by the law enforcers? "Wipe off 5 and arive alive" sounds like an oxymoron, would you agree?

No, accidents are measured in metres not in time.... For example, if everyone sat in their car for 5 hours, but didnt drive anywhere there would be no accidents, however if everyone moved 5000 metres no matter how much time it took there would be accidents...

So basically it does not matter how fast you go through an intersection, its how many metres you cover to get to the other side...

Quite obviously I dont agree completely with this statement given the above information, however, I do agree that some officers are oxymorons, and probably homosapiens too...

Dyslexia is a specific learning disability that is neurological in origin. It is characterized by difficulties with accurate and / or fluent word recognition and by poor spelling and decoding abilities. These difficulties typically result from a deficit in the phonological component of language that is often unexpected in relation to other cognitive abilities and the provision of effective classroom instruction. Secondary consequences may include problems in reading comprehension and reduced reading experience that can impede growth of vocabulary and background knowledge.

# Studies show that individuals with dyslexia process information in a different area of the brain than do non-dyslexics.
# Many people who are dyslexic are of average to above average intelligence.

Is there a cure for dyslexia?

* No, dyslexia is not a disease. There is no cure.
* With proper diagnosis, appropriate instruction, hard work and support from family, teachers, friends, and others, individuals who are dyslexic can succeed in school and later as working adults.

Can you be successfull dispite having dyslexia?

Sure you can, it will make things harder but with a bit of hard work dyslexics can succeed.

Examples..

# Ann Bancroft - First woman in history to cross the ice to both the North and South Poles.

# David Boies - Trial lawyer whose high-profile clients have included former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, Jr., Napster, and the U.S. Justice Dept. in its antitrust suit against Microsoft.
# Erin Brokovich - Real-life heroine who exposed a cover-up by a major California utility that was contaminating the local water supply. Their actions had severe, even deadly consequences to the members of the community. With her help, the townspeople were awarded a $333 million settlement, the largest ever in a U.S. direct-action lawsuit. (Julia Roberts played her in the movie with the same name.)
# Stephen J. Cannell - Author and Emmy Award-winning TV producer and writer, who has created or co-created more than 38 shows, of which he has scripted more than 350 episodes and produced or executive produced more than 1,500 episodes. His hits include "The Rockford Files," "A-Team," "21 Jump Street," "Wiseguy," "Renegade" and "Silk Stalkings."

# Whoopi Goldberg - Actor and comedian, winner of an Academy Award for her supporting role in "Ghost," also an Academy Award nomination for her role in "The Color Purple."

Dear Dr. Stereo,

I have a problem with keeping the dirt, grime and grease off my motorbike. I reckon I must have tried everything to fix it! I am starting to become a little jaded with the whole deal and if I can't find a solution may just have to go and trade it in. :?

I have tried shaking the dirt off, but that didn't work! :(

I tried riding it in the rain, but that didn't work either! :(

I took it to a mechanic, but he said he couldn't fix it! :(

I even went on some really rough dirt roads to try and loosen the grime, but that didn't work! :(

Please help Dr. Stereo as I am close to trading it in on a Triumph!
