the common consensus is to take a ride up the mountains and slowly slowly crank her over more and more over 50~100km distance.

look dont be too scared. they are not as bad as people say.
just ride on them as if it was wet.

Not that mina would know what it's like to ride in the wet

but that's pretty good advice. Other option is of course do a burnout ad that will get rid of the straight layer

i rode a new front tyre at the track last weekend.
i was a little worried about it. i just took is reasonably easy for the first 2 laps and then i rode like normal.
i had absolutely no problems. admittedly i dont ride as hard as a lot of people do so i probably never got close to testing its boundaries.
the advice to ride like its raining i reckon is a good tip.

i have a tin of tyre buffer, which i put on a rag and wipe over the tyre with when its new. helps get rid of that layer on top...

Just ride the bugger, but easily for the first 100 or so and gradually get into it like someone else suggested...

Just ride on it and pretend you are riding on mud.... so you ride around for a couple of k's.... doing the tire warmup thing that they do at the track.... Youll be right...

perhaps the tire fitters saw a huge set of chicken strips on the old ones and didn't see the need to warn
