Looks like other sites are starting to report the same thing:

Kawasaki has released their final (claimed) horsepower and torque specs for their highly anticipated ZX-14 sportbike. Many media outlets had expected Kawasaki to claim 200hp for the ZX-14, but Kawasaki defied expectations - the published specs are 187hp and 113.5lb-ft of torque, with 197hp when the ram-air system is in effect.

(From motorcycledaily.com.)

Raptors and Sprockets are also reporting these figures.

Not as much HP as a lot expected, but a shit load of torque!

Anyone else notice that the frame design appears to be based on the ZX12R?
Motorcycle's are inherently unstable...

the whole bike is based on a ZX12. With the obvious exception being the bodywork. Even the standard Kawasaki literature I obtained back in Sept/Oct last year referered to frame and motor both being based on the 12............

What you effectively have with the ZZR1400 sports-tourer is a stretched, heavier and slightly more powerful version of the ZX12R sportsbike.
