Mark there is a review on the new Sportec in this months "Rapid" although they seem to be a bit advertiser biased , the Sportecs sound good .

I'm sure Hammer had the racetechs on his previous ZX12 & reckoned they were great except they cost abit $600set?

They are the equivelent of a Power race/Diablo super corsa etc etc from memory...

I think these replace the old Rennsports don't they. If so, the Rennsports were a very nice tyre on my old 9 and stuck like poo to a doona.

The only thing I'd suggest though is if they're expensive they're probably overkill and you'd be just as well off with the Sportec's perhaps.

Yep racetechs replaced rennsports.

I got the M1 on my 9 and I have to say I'm impressed with it, gives a lot of feedback.
I paid the same as I would have done for a pilot and seem to be getting better wear out of it.
Plus the pillion says it doesn't squirm about as much but then again the old tyre was shagged

The only Metzlers I've ever used are the ones I spent a couple of days riding around the Nurburgring on. I think they were the Sportecs and I loved them. They offered superb feedback and warmed up pretty quickly.

I ran one set of Sportec M1's, then switched to Diablo Corsa's (Now running Super Corsa's). I loved the M1's, but never ran another set because I only got 2800km out of the rear.

Besides the short life, they were pretty good. But they slid on me more than the Diablo Corsa's did.

Thanks to Big Kev I have Got a second hand set on Tiggr atm. When i was able to ride him ...... lol ... So far I found them very impressive. Similar to the Pilot "Race" with more flickability.
I would have to say they are Probably THE best tyre on the market for Feedback/grip levels on a litre bike or bigger. However I do think there are better $/corner tyres out there like the Shinko Stealth ultra softs.

Brett, Shinko don't make a 16 inch font tyre,( that's any good
) thats why I went for the Metzelers.

Yeah Mark the Shinko range is a little limited they dont ven do a 160 x 17 as they lost the mould apparantly
